Just boiled 6 eggs using tap water. I set my timer for 15 min till they started to boil then turned the heat off. I put the lid on the pan and let the eggs sit in the hot water for another 15 min. Took one out and rand cold water over it then cracked and rolled it . the shell came off very easily and the yolk was perfect.

I put eggs in a pan, cover with cold water. Bring to boil, cover, shut off flame, move to another burner for 12 minutes. Then cover with cold water until eggs are no longer hot and have stopped cooking. Put in frig. OR put in ice water. Yolks are yellow, no green ring, peels perfectly for deviled eggs.

Yea, I wasn't happy with the green ring, but I was happy they were cooked through...couldn't believe it because they were Jumbo eggs and I literally only boiled for 1 minute..crazy..Thanks❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍

@@ArlenesCreations The eggs are in HOT water, covered. Literally still cooking. It's great to crack open an egg and get to eat the whole thing, or present beautiful deviled eggs. The little thrills we get, right?

I use the same method and although they are cooked right without the green, they don't always peel properly. I remember when I was young that membrane was not a factor. The eggs always peeled properly. Man has caused the tough membrane.

When I worked in food service we had to do about 200 eggs at a time. after cooking them we poured off the hot water then covered them with ice and cold water . If you crack and roll them a few seconds longer it is easier to peel. Start from the large end there is usually an air pocket that it is easier to start the peel. if you roll them a few seconds longer the peel sometimes come off in one or two tries, .
@ArlenesCreations10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip...I will definitely roll them a little longer next time.👍👍❤❤ Thanks so much for watching

Yes, the best way is to bring the eggs to a boil, cover and take off the heat and let them sit until you can handle them. Always use eggs that you have had in the fridge for about a week. Fresh eggs are harder to peel.

Thanks Susan, I appreciate the input. Who would think that peeling an egg could be so difficult sometimes 🤣🤣🥰🥰❤❤Its crazy
@MG-ot2yr10 ай бұрын
I bring them to a boil, cover, turn off the heat and let sit about 10 minutes, depending on size of eggs could be more or less. Then pour off hot water and add ice and cold water, let sit 10 minutes in ice bath then peeling is usually fairly troublefree.
@ArlenesCreations10 ай бұрын
After that do the yolks have a green ring or are they bright yellow ? Thanks🥰❤🥰❤

Whenever I would make hard boiled eggs they would end up with the yolk looking somewhat green or just dark color on the outer part of yolk. That would drive me crazy. And it’s not very appealing to the eye. Everyone I asked had no clue as to why this happens. I always thought it was because I was over cooking them. And then it hit me. It’s the water. Tap water! The metals/chemicals in tap water. It had to be the reason for this occurring. So I made them with bottled (distilled) water and filtered water from my fridge. NO MORE HARD BOILED UGLY EGG YOLK! Now I did actually forget my eggs one day. Like seriously overcooked them forgot. Yes they did still have a hint of greenish dark color but not at all like I used to get. And I did overcooked them way way WAY longer than ever before .
@glorythompson519310 ай бұрын
The dark coloring is the sulfer in the yolk coming out from the heat.
@ArlenesCreations10 ай бұрын
Yes...mine had a little green around the edge of the yolk..I hate that also. I will try my filtered water next time, and see if that makes amy difference but I do see what @Glorythompson5193 is saying. Thanks so much for watching❤❤❤❤

Eggs, cold water. Bring to boil. Take off heat, put lid on, let sit for 15 mins. Drain, run under cold water. No green rim.

Um..green ring is not good
@ArlenesCreations10 ай бұрын
Unpleasant to the eyes, but the eggs were good.. I recieved a few other comments on how to avoid that, so can't wait to try them again. But as far as the 1 minute cook time, cover and let cool for hours in the pot...it works, they all peeled perfect. ❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰
@DougMacDonald-w1f10 ай бұрын
more than that, you get a sulfur smell. Try 10 minutes in boiling water then straight into ice water. no green ring and they peel easily@@ArlenesCreations
