Wasn't aware of positive swaps (thought you have to always pay for having open position overnight). Checked some instruments on my platform and there are indeed some positive ones, but they are pretty rare and modest compered to negatives. Interesting though.

I just do some researches about grid trading. of course is risky to put the money there and wait for a compound interest but if it is well risk-managed, those kind of systems can generate a stable and fix cash flow. so what do u think about trading those systems for cash flow?

Moin Rene, die Idee ist klasse, wenn leider auch nicht Strategietester tauglich wie Du uns netter weise warnend mitgeteilt hast. Danke für die Warnung! Meine Frage wäre: Kann man dem Tester die realen SWAP-Werte unterjubeln? Ich denke an eine kleine csv-Datei mit Datum und den beiden SWAP Buy/Sell Werten die man ja dafür heranziehen könnte. Klar können diese bei der Eröffnung von Trades direkt verwendet werden, aber würde das so simpel Sinn ergeben? Für das Ergebnis nach Schließung des Trades muss der Wert ja im Ergebnis einfließen ... Nur wie? Hast Du da noch einen guten Tipp?

Klar mit externen Daten kannst du dir das schon alles zurechtlegen. Aber ich wüsste aktuell nicht wirklich, wo man die Daten herbekommt (ohne Riesenaufwand)

Hi Rene. Just out of couriosity, I tried to backtest the code on my demo acc. Very different result from yours. On every asset pretty much loosing money. What happened? thanks

dunno depends on the symbols you tested I guess. As I explain in the video: Different symbols have different swap rates. Also many other factors are important like spread, commission, price movement over night

When the swap rates of the current asset are bad, simply switch to another asset. Easy.

only works with assets with triple swap on wednesday, so only currencies and metals. additionally, the smaller the spread the better, and gold already has a really small spread, most currencies have bigger spreads, especially during the rollover time. then additionally the swaps are somewhat priced into the market, just like stocks price in part of the dividend they pay on ED Date. Trading Swap-focused does work, but only long term, its called Carry Trading. But as you might imagine, its not free money either, still requires quite some skill and definitely a way bigger understanding of the markets and macro economics to pull off sucessfully compared to intra day trading and short term trading in general. Then on the other hand, its definitely way less technical in nature and you have a lot more time to make decisions since the trades run for months and sometimes years.
