It's strange we didn't fully realize how good we had it for some of the classics of this era and it's definitely not nostalgia alone, there is some stuff I don't miss. Even the aesthetic of the menus, there is some effort there you don't see as much nowadays

That futuristic, clean / minimal PS2 menu aesthetic was everything. Combined with the music just created some timeless art. Nostalgia and was genuinely a solid time in gaming / music, lot of great advances + quality

@@ksager123I kinda of did because I use to be obsessed, still kinda of am, with the idea of how many new ideas can there be til we run the well dry. Like how many different rhymes and stories can you tell in a song with different chord progressions until it all starts repeating? This is why I’m a big proponent of bands covering other bands songs because I like to hear different takes on great records instead of more mediocre new ones.

If you were wondering, Stranger, that Eric-Serra-N64-Bond-game-esque sound is just a pitched/transposed down tambourine one shot.

Retro gaming and retro music are on the rise. Indie games are actually stomping mudholes in the faces of AAA studios. I can honestly see a future in which Thought Forms is making OSTs for indie devs that aim for the retro flavor.

Love to see it. Feel like I've seen a lot of PSX era survival horror games coming out lately, which I'm all for. haha, hire me indie devs!!!

I would just like to give my profound thanks. You make making GOOD music seem like an achievable task with DAWs. I've tried them all. The best by far is bitwig, so seeing you make AWESOME video game music videos using it and using Romplers and simple layouts to record really inspires me and gives me hope. Thanks for your insights to rompler drum track making.
@Thought-Forms11 ай бұрын
Thanks parker! Biggest thing is to just get comfy with any DAW and it will become cake the more you produce. Bitwig definitely makes it a lot easier though, very streamlined and simple UI compared to some of those old behemoth DAW's with 25 odd years of technical debt

It's really interesting that this style of music still carries the core elements of "electronic" music despite having so many roots stemming from styles like Jazz, blues and even world music including elements of pop. Very dynamic genre of music, yet still very classy and sophisticated sounding.

Do you think you could make videos on how to use Bitwig? All of your tutorials have inspired me to get Bitwig coming from Ableton and I really like your approach to explaining concepts. You make producing genres like dnb and ambient alot less intimidating!

I've observed frequent spikes in performance with several Roland Cloud plugins on Mac as well. It appears that this issue isn't present on Windows, although I realize this may not be a viable solution for everyone.

Cool track :) But how can the (bass)keys E-F-A work in the first chord which is an Fmin7 ? Shouldn't it Eb-F-Ab instead? Sorry for my ignorance :)
