Hi Sara, I made this soap flowed you steps. It looked good but after 24 hrs when I took the soap out of the mould I found that the salt on the soap was melted and I could still see watery salt on top. Do you know what causes melting? Do you think I let the soap be too hot in the mould? Would like to know your opinion! Thanks

Hi! Thanks for reaching out!Temperature can play a role in this, however, the most common reasons I’ve found for salt causing soap to sweat is humidity in the air, the type of salt used, or the amount of salt used. I’ve had the best luck with pink Himalayan salt staying dry in cold process soap recipes. Dead Sea salt tends to cause sweating a bit more. If too much salt is used, this can also contribute to soap sweating or if there is too much moisture in the air where soap is curing, the salt will absorb the moisture and cause sweating. A dry environment is best for curing soap. The good news is that sweating caused by salt in the soap will not affect the effectiveness of your soap once your soap bars are fully cured. I hope this helps and that you enjoy your soap once they have cured! When moisture is only on your soap top from use of salt, you could try removing the salt and wiping soap tops dry for the remainder of their time curing ❤
