KEN MILES ENTRED THE CHAT. Kids, please, don't make this blind guy make you misshift to get that nonsense number of RPMs. 7000 is enough to make you "meet it asking the only question that matters" or else the whatever number of revolutions your car has inside her guts. If it has guts at least... make sure anyay to have some love for the heart of your car or get outta here please.

@@grandicellichannel I don't know a single car that has a tachometer than even goes up to 11k rpm stock
@grandicellichannel2 жыл бұрын
@@YellowLAVA indeed... well... ok I was not meaning only the american V8 market, but the engine equipement of our cars as a whole. Takumi's "reborn" Trueno had a 4A-GEU Silver Top (as said by Ryosuke) taken from TRD from a touring car of their own, underpowered for the street racing and therefore for this reason could reach very high revs like small-engined European cars (see Abarth for example). I live in Italy and I don't know a single road legal car that can reach 10k, even with rotary engines... the VTEC Honda Civic R tops at 9000. Usually we peak, no matter if we have 4, 5, 6, 8, or 12 cylinders, nor their architecture (in-line, V, W, boxer or flat). I took in cause Miles for the famous 7000 RPMs references in Ford Vs. Ferrari, but simply because the max revs of your cars does not matter... every stock car, even pumped up by the manufacture, has her own nature, a footprint that MUST be respected. For example, I waited 6 long years to get an Alfa Romeo 155, and I had the luck after many renounces and research to find a limited edition of 1995, less then 300 made - a V6 Busso Sport Lightweight. It was the car of my dreams, and it fits me like a silk glove for it's nature in all it's aspects. I wished for so long that car, eventually getting it, and the 6500/7000 RPMs at which tops, are well enough for her. I would never EVER modify her for any reason, because we became like one being and every time I see her or jump on her it's like the first time... as soon as I hit the throttle, make her scream her melody climbing a mountain pass, dancing with her across hairpins, esses, tight or fast corners, and stopping right atop the Apuan Alps, deep inside, only there I feel ALIVE. Steve McQueen was right as hell. Even the terrible pain caused by the chronical headaches that hits me every day fades, and it's only me and her, a men and a screaming red wedge-shaped car cutting the air climbing towards the skies. Nothing happens. It's only me and her. No feeling. Only peace and unconscious happiness mixed to a feel of infinite freedom... We are one... hope I was able to express the joy and the sensations of a random guy with a quite special car (for me, maybe not the majority of ours). And remember: when I travel in space and time with my "queen" we barely hit 7000 RPMs. So guys... accept your car for what it is, and don't pretend the impossible from her or else you will only hurt her and destroy her very nature! Have a good day my petrolhead bros... - "Jo" Lothar AKA "The Apuan Red Baron"

@@vreikezen8268 I guess he just wanted a fair race. A win would've been worth nothing if Takumi had revved his engine to just 7000 rpm
@Ikaros--- Жыл бұрын
Wataru knew what he was doing. He was a street racer, but more than that, a car and tuning enthusiast. Unlike pretty much every team Takumi and Project D raced, he tuned his Levin on his own to a professional level even if it took most of his money. And he had the skills to push the car to its limits. Where other drivers would just buy a better car or rely on their teams, he enjoyed making a slow car fast. I'd say that he's the one who opened Takumi's eyes to the world of tuning. I'd say it's the same for Itsuki and his turbo AE85. Wataru may have had a bad attitude in the beginning, but that's just because of financial limitations. Takumi's new engine was rare and expensive, while all he had was a cheap turbo. Later on he swapped to a supercharger which is more expensive, but still cheaper and more available than a racing engine, and he managed to hold his own against Keisuke's FD which by then was already a monster. It was funny seeing Bunta's surprise that Takumi had friends with that kind of experience, as he planned to install the tachometer himself, but Takumi, Wataru and Iketani beat him to it.

So I got a funny story that kinda relates to this. 3 weeks ago I bought a 2010 Honda accord with a 5 speed to be my new daily driver. My previous daily and also first car was a 1979 f100 custom with the 300cu i6 and a 3 speed column shifter. So while I have driven a manual before, the two vehicles drive so differently that it's almost like learning a new transmission entirely. I got consistent with the new car pretty quickly but I had this recurring problem of rough shifts when going from 1st to 2nd and often 2nd to 3rd as well and I could not figure out why it was doing that. So there's the context, well tonight while driving home from my night class I was doing a bit of Tom foolery and I discovered that the car makes the 1-3rd shifts very smooth if I push the rpms to 4000+ before shifting, even during a typical slow acceleration like in traffic at an intersection. Previously I was only shifting between 2500-3000 rpms for slower acceleration which is when the clutch would engage awkwardly and power to the wheels would be delayed. On the final stretch before making my way home I pushed first gear all the way to 6000 rpms before shifting (7800 is redline) to 2nd and the shift was still buttery smooth. Bear in mind I don't mean a very fast pedal to the floor acceleration, I just stayed in 1st for that long before doing it just to see how the car responds. It just doesn't make sense to me because I'd think you would be straining your synchros more when pushing rpms so high since they will have to lower them more on the downshift, but I guess it's not a problem for Hondas. 🤷♂️ It's hilarious though because it's such a fucking Honda stereotype, with Honda drivers always accelerating quickly and pushing the rpms way high driving their slow dailys like race cars. What I've learned today though is you kinda fucking have to if you want your shifts to not be super sloppy. 😂 Finally, I want to add that I am entirely self taught on driving manuals as my family members all drive automatics. As I said I also went from an antique pickup truck to a more modern sedan, the two vehicles are very different. I'm sure I've said some stupid shit in here or I've described myself doing something improperly; so if I did constructive criticism would be appreciated, no shit talking for my mistakes.
@okinshield71672 жыл бұрын
Don’t know if you do it but let off the clutch smoothly after shifting. Watch your tachometer needle and when it gets to the speed the next gear is at fully let off the clutch. It takes out the jarring when you up shift.

Some insight into the whole Nonsense lyrics in Eurobeat - I’m a huge fan of Initial D - been a fan since the early 2000’s after watching Initial D for the first time at a school anime club. After university I went to go live in Japan, Gunma of all places - got a car, drove up and down the mountains for 3 years when I wasn’t working my ft job - so I’m not speaking out of my ass - I knew a lot of Japanese friends - even parents of these friends, who listened to Eurobeat while driving and they weren’t fans of Initial D. Okay so the insight is this - Eurobeat doesn’t sound correct to us Westerners because the songs are typically written by Japanese or non English speaking song writers and then performed by Italian performers - the English lyrics and Melody are geared towards Japanese people who don’t understand English fluently, BUTTTT - they can pick up on a few of the words - which - sound cool - to them - which gives them a feeling that they’re listening to English dance music - and well, the melody isn’t horrible. So yeah the songs make no sense, because they weren’t meant to make sense - they just needed to sound cool and entertaining to people who don’t understand them. Those of you who don’t understand Japanese, who listened to Japanese music for the first time - you kept playing that song over and over again even though you didn’t understand all the lyrics or make sense of the song - it’s like that. Oh also, I ended up marrying a gunma woman and we had kids - our first son’s Japanese name is Takumi. Because Initial D.❤

Just recently I also know something that’s called a para para dance which is…something like dancing on the theme of the eurobeat song, it was really famous in Japan so I guess in some case eurobeat wasn’t stuck with initial D, it’s like something you said

That's because it does, I feel way faster driving at 55 mph on winding mountain roads than I do driving 110 on long stretches of highway. I'm pretty sure it has to do with how much road you can see ahead of you and your cars limitations being grip and acceleration, instead of overall HP, aero and gearings.
@_NobodySpecial_2 жыл бұрын
Straighter races have less thrill but are faster typically look at Nascar that shits boring as hell but they're busting 210 on the regular. Formula 1 stuff is faster and more windey than Nascar but the speed isn't the appeal, it's the depth of skill needed to have those quick turns at that high speed. Nascar the turns are all the same so it's easier to make it look easy. Rally is probably the slowest race type but because of the amount of techniques and technical skills needed it's immensely entertaining once you get immersed.
