Between RDJ and Tom…this movie is pure 24k comedy gold.
@stevenobrien76864 ай бұрын
The whole cast really killed it. They were obviously the highlights, but everyone knocked it out of the park on this one. There was obviously magic onset for the whole shoot, and it shows in how hard everyone commits to each individual scene. Even smaller characters like the pirates, or the film crew in the opening scenes before the main cast is by themselves.

He killed that roll so hard, people didn't recognize him to the end credits. Literally. I remember being in the theater opening weekend, and when his name popped up in the credits for Les Grossman, multiple people gasped and said out loud "wait, WHAT!?". Unironically one of his best roles and a great highlight of an already legendary career. Edit: bro we get it “Me supah smart, me know dat wuz Tom Cruise.” Congratulations in 2024, after over a decade of prosthetic transformations in movies like this, it’s easy for you to recognize. It’s obviously him if you’re looking for it, duh. But at the time this was so polar opposite to the type of role Tom was known for, or what he looked like. Plus him being in the movie was kept under wraps and in none of the promotional material or trailers. At the time, even if you thought it might be him, on opening weekend it was enough to make you doubt yourself until the end credits. To retro actively look back at it and say “well duh”, is missing the point entirely. The role was so different and played so well, people could barely believe it was him.

Tom Cruise always brings to each role his unique acting. Seeing him in this was so funny. Especially the dancing I think he does in the end.

Anyone else have to go back after watching the movie just to confirm and marvel at it being Tom Cruise since you didn’t realize during the ENTIRE MOVIE?? That’s fucking talent…

The crew that does the Artwork for their disguises should win awards too. Amazing work. I assumed it was him but didn't fully know until the part where it zoomed onto his face lmao

Tom Cruise can literally do comedy. The guy is a natural. It's such a shame he didn't do more.
