Make Syntakt an awesome polysynth! Talk & Jam

Elektron Syntakt for me is currently the most flexible drum & synth module.
However, a limitation is that synth sounds can only be played monophonically. Here I show that it is not too difficult to make Syntakt a great sounding 8-voice polysynth with four additional drum & bass tracks.
PolySyntakt Setup: 8-voice digital synth on tracks 1-8 + additional analog drum & bass tracks (9-12)
MPE Setup: QuNexus + Kenton USB-MIDI-host
Midihub Setup: Midiplus X2 mini keyboard with velocity and DIN Midi output, Midihub patch for channel rotation and velocity to cc mapping: patchstorage.com/polysyntakt/
Update: the velocity problem in MPE setup has just been fixed with Syntakt firmware 1.10

Velocity problem in MPE setup has just been fixed with Syntakt OS 1.10 (Elektron: "Added a the possibility to select how velocity data will affect the amp volume when playing the sound using the VELOCITY TO VOL parameter")

i use an iConnectivity Audio4+ with my Octatrack and an LCXL the Audio4 translates and routes both midi and audio, it's pretty slick! And it connects to my iphone/pad and all the apps.

Well done on this Midihub implementation! I found this video through the Blockas Editor actually (such a great tool with software to match!). Digging the jam at the end, glad to see the Syntakt capabilities really being explored a bit here.

Great channel! Do you feel the Syntakt is a better single box solution to running the Modal Cycles and Samples together? Would love to hear your pros/cons. Thanks!

Many thanks! For me the syntakt is the better solution, because I prefer to work without samples, at least most of the time... But if samples are crucial, then the two-model combi is really great, with lots of knobs 👍 But if you add samples at a later production step, maybe in the DAW, the syntakt is the better choice in allmost all aspects.

Great work Pete! Thanks for sharing! Quick question: I am using an OXI One to send a polysequence on CH1 to the Syntakt and it works great! But when I select a new sequencer on the OXI One to transmit to another CH the notes are still automatically sent to the Syntakt regardless of the CH I choose (I would like to have both the Syntakt and my other gear to be sequenced at the the same time). Is there a way to free up another CH to transmit to a different synth without having the notes also routed to the Syntakt while still having the poly sequence running?

Thanks 😊 - just an idea: it may be an AUTO CHANNEL problem, deactive it or use a different one (see manual)

Thanks for the great video. Can you go into more detail how editing BC parameters on track 1 is simultaneously affecting the 7 other tracks ?

Thanks for the feedback - all the editing on track 1 is copied to tracks 2-8 via midi using the midihub to duplicate the cc data on different channels. Hope this helps...
