Really surprised to hear someone say the NDLR has a good user interface, because the Conductive MRCC has by far the worst UX of any MIDI device I've ever used. From the random menu structure to the LEDs that are 10X too bright and bleed into each other to the inability of the developer to debounce the encoder, it's just terrible. It's funny that their only other product is an arp - because the arp on my MRCC would actually crash the MRCC. And you definitely couldn't leave it on because it would eventually lock up, and even if it didn't the screen would burn in because any traffic (including clock) keeps the screensaver from working.

First time I've seen the MP controller pop up in a video when I wasn't specifically looking or it. I'm surprised it's not more popular; It looks incredible and perfect for hybrid setups.

I completely agree with you dude. Do you really think they’ll be able to add something like voice spreading in a firmware update? I might be wrong, but I think I read that the Steampipe was a mono signal path and stereo after the effect. I think the Minilogue XD works a similar way

Erica's Steampipe is .ensMkI; you are comparing SteamPipe 2 MkII with the hw version from MkI. There's no spread in MkI as there's no spread in hw version...

I was originally waiting for the desktop version too but I waited too long and Thomann lowered the keyboard price to $766 bucks…getting an MPE controller with the synth for that price was a no brainer. So now my previous midi controller is sitting unused. I was using a Panorama T6 and I liked it but I like the feel of the UBXA way more. I’m surprised so many people didn’t like the keyboard actually - unless they were not expecting synth action, pianists wanting weight or something, I don’t see anything to complain about at all. It feels GREAT.

Thanks for bringing this point up. For what I want to use it for primarily I don’t feel like will be as negatively effected (I’m thinking more karplus plucking type sounds), but for the more wind-inspired sounds I can see how the stereo spread would be essential in an ensemble type of effect. Hopefully this will put it on their radar and they will be able to address it with a software patch/firmware. I still am strongly considering purchasing the Steampipe, but this is helpful to know. Understandable conclusion. I also find real stereo spread very important while using MPE because it creates a great ensemble effect, identifying all the subtile expressive details much more clearly. It’s like sitting in the middle of an orchestra section.

Oh I'm glad someone else noticed the stereo spread omission! It's such an important feature of the original ensemble and I also decided to stick to the software version because of that (and lack of audio over usb). It's a real shame. Hopefully stereo voice spread is something they can still implement in the future. Do you know if there's a way to make the Steampipe Reaktor Ensemble MPE? I recommend mapping subtle randomness with Expression Control, it brings even more character

Personally I don't think it's a very good synth, not in the traditional sense, it's good sounding, just something that I would ever use, and that's why I shy away from the Osmose, the engine.

The behringer prophet 800 isnt cheap its just normal.. The synth world is full to the brim of ripoff products.. And I mean full !!! That prophet 5 wouldnt cost 1/5th of what they are making on it... Not talking about quality or sound mind you... The prophet is amazing.. But its vastly overpriced, along with just about every other synth/drum machine/speakers/ soundcard you name it... All a market ungoverned and allowed to set whatever prices they feel like setting.. As long as every other product is expensive then nobody thinks any different.. Then products come along like behringers latest synths, and people think how do they make them so cheap !! Well I guess your on the path to figuring that one out arent you.. Rember this, behringer are makig money on there synths, there a buisness, there not making them for free or aiming for low margins.. There just setting reasonable fair prices on them.. Everybody else isnt..

Could you let us know what was constituting the sequence at the end, I could hear in our Peatre with different divisions but also some nice Rich chords in there occasionally, was that in the oscillators or the sequence?

How did you set it up so one Pro-800 controls the other one? Is one midi-out on the others midi-in ? this would be no option for me since is use and Oxi One with an S61 i think about how to tackle this problem, since my first Pro 800 is on it´s way..

If you load up a bunch of percussion sounds on a Volca sample and synch it with one of these, you can get some pretty fun and interesting stuff going. It can also make you terribly late for work, but everything has its downside.

Do u ever see an error on ur display reading “filtr/vibr pdl” how do I get rid of this bug? It happens whether I have midi plugged in with other synths and without.

I wish people made prank videos....playing on an expesive new Obie...but let the Pro 8oo sound via Midi connection...people would praise the Obie and would dream about it, they wouldn't believe that i was the sound of the 350 USD Behringer Pro 800, hehe.
