Can you explain the sidechaining a little please? Are you lowering the sidechained track's volume in conjunction with the Kick track?

the sidechain is a proccess where the bass is lowered to enhance kick sound, giving this 'discrete gate' effect (sorry, I barely could explain it, but hope it helps)

If i can make a suggestion, you absolutly need to work on those drums. Look up gated reverb. Id suggest using a non-linear gated reverb effect to replicate those delicious drums from "in the air" by phil collins
