@@FacilityD20 GAh! I have been staring at my iPad for weeks waiting for one of your videos, I would have responded sooner than 12s if I didn’t get up to top off my coffee!! :P I was having my morning coffee routine and your video popped up on my feed. Great video as always.

Just finished watching it. This is great, I have 5 painter mats from my carpenter’s days. I have been wanting to do mats after I solidify my channel and my digital store with terrain STL’s. Was planning to just do simple surface with caulking and dirt. But this with the tiles you placed on is not only brilliant but also a game changer. So glad it worked with rolling up. Mesh tape is also an amazing idea. Well done and so happy to see a new video.

Thanks a lot! I am not the first to use some of these techniques, but it did turn out nice and I think I put my own spin on it.

@@FacilityD20 Please satisfy my curiosity - is that a Newfoundland accent you've got? At first, I thought you were Irish.

@@ChrisPage68 Yes, that is correct. I'm a Newfoundlander.

Oh dang. Great ideas. I’ve used Eva foam to make bricks for some historical buildings. Using it for a game mat though, game changer
@FacilityD202 ай бұрын
Thanks, I can not take credit for the ideas, I am using some ideas that other creators have done as well.

Really cool! You'll have to do a follow-up on how many time you can roll and unroll it
@FacilityD202 ай бұрын
I am curious about that, too, but my gaming table that you see at the end of the video has a vult and removeable top, the matt is sitting in there now and will be for a very long time laid flat.

So cool How thick is the foam you are using for the Zone Motalis? How much smoke did it produce with the settings used?
@FacilityD202 ай бұрын
I used two different thicknesses, maybe like 2 and 4 mm... not sure, but the thinner the better. It created a bit of smoke, not too bad.

To make a mat this cool and not show b roll at the end of it loaded up with models and terrain is heresy!!!
@FacilityD20Ай бұрын
Haha, people drop off the video when I show the "final results" and it hurts the video lol. Don't worry this matt will be in a few videos coming up as I build terrain for it

I dip in and out of this channel from time to time, this concept, idea and everything is fantastic and I love it! However, every once in a while there is this "bwoop" noise that appears, specifically (for example) at: 0:43 0:16 0:05 Not sure if and when you introduced it. I think it's neat you've added them in, but it personally put me off. It almost felt like you added them in to keep retention of people with small attention spans by introducing some sort of white noise. Just personally bothered me enough to make a comment about it. A different sound clip wouldn't bother me as much, a small boop or click is fine, but this one feels specifically geared to achieve the aforementioned affect. Regardless, this is awesome!
@FacilityD202 ай бұрын
@daringdarius5686 Thanks for the visit. There is a sound effect that usually matches a pop-up on screen like arrows or words or something. Yes, these are specially added to keep attention, which, unfortunately, is how YT works these days. I may have the volume of them a little loud if they were too noticeable, I will note this for the next video edit. Thanks.

@@FacilityD20 Ah, I'll just train my brain into ignoring them (I have good selective hearing). Keep up the great work as always! I plan on trying this out myself! A friend has a laser engraver they could let me borrow ;)
