I too drop bp's/condos. Keep a 6' 2x6 in the boat to put he bp's on and then you can just slide the whole thing over board to drop the bp's. The board will float to the top and you can just pick it back up. It keeps you from scratching the boat and straining your back.

That depends on the lake. I usually look for some sort of "transition" that would funnel crappie to a specific area. I look for a pocket, a sharply compressed incline, road bed, cove, and always ensure that it is an "oasis in the desert" if you know what I mean? I really search an area with Side Imaging before I drop a BP and ensure there are no other ones within 100 yrds. That is just my preference. Now, having said that I will also drop a BP out in an open flat. Especially when there are no other BP's with a wide area. I could go on and on on things I look for. I have only had a very few bp's I have dropped that have not produced. Well they all produce, some just seem to hold more or bigger fish and some can be nursery's.
