Those are some real slabs man! I live in Florida. My family has always called them Specs. I can remember in the early 70’s when my father and uncle would go fishing for them at night with lanterns hanging off the boat and catch wash tubs full.

I enjoy fishing, myself. My Ex-husband did teach Me to always have some back up equipment. Changing hooks. Have some already ready. Since I don't fish now, watching the fishing website is my fishing. So everytime you miss one, I miss one. I be like man change the hook, change the pole, but catch the fish. Make me want to jump into my phone and get the fish out the water. I enjoy watching.....

I use to be a fishermen, when lived in Florida both freshwater and saltwater , would fish for hours. I would 8hrs at a time . Seeing you out there reminds me of fishing back home in Florida, the fishing here in Kentucky is not the same. Tight lines, keep on fishing and so will !!!

That was a good one gets away for that reason! Elder fish different class all together! San Carlos lake Arizona has produced all fish you catch at least twice as big as your best on any fish caught. Also Roosevelt lake huge aggressive Crappie in spawning season. 👍

Back in 1986 I went to San Carlos Arizona to 4 foundations for houses on the reservation. San Carlos Lake has the biggest freaking crappie I've ever seen in my life we were catching three Pounders like it was nothing. When we caught one close to 4 we just knew we had a state record the game warden laughed at us. If you get a chance to go there you'll never leave. Check it out for yourself I'm not sure what the Arizona State record is oh, but it's big. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Spent my youth fishing for salmon and steelhead giant lake trout, huge catfish and sturgeon on Lake Shasta. Catching those monster crappie on San Carlos Lake what is the best fishing trip I've ever been on. I hope you get a chance to go there. If you do you will not be disappointed.

My Dad and I used to always use dual hook setups about 15 inches apart with live Minnows and would always catch dozens and dozens of Crappie and take them back to camp and put them in like a 3foot by 3 foot cage he made . After about 3to 4 days of fishing for them we would have litteraly a couple of hundred of them, there was no limit , was at Roosevelt Lake in Ariz. Before the trip home he had a ironing board hooked up to back of Rv that folded down and he would get the electric knife out and and start emptying the cage , filleting the crappy and packageing them up and put them on ice in coolers. Sometimes the people around us camping would come over and watch him in amazement that we had so many fish. My family had fish all year long until we did it again. Sometime we would use a jig plus a minnow on the hook. Caught a lot of bass and cats that way too.
