Beautiful piece. Congratulations! My own oil pot is made with an empty small (40 grams) Pringles package including its plastic cap. The oil is synthetic motor oil... and for some years it has worked very well. :-)

I know it's been long since this video was published but I recently made my pot and realize after a couple of weeks that all the oil I put in it had filtered out. Anyone experienced the same problem? I did not see any special treatment to the inside of the pot. Do I need to do something special? Thanks

Hello, why do you make two oil pots, for metal and wood, if they both use grapeseed oil?
@abuwabu7 жыл бұрын
Jacob Stevens I was wondering this too.

Not a craftsperson, but my guess is to avoid contamination. If the oiler were used on a knife or plane blade after sharpening, it might pick up metallic particles that were left behind, which might discolor the surface of wooden objects.
