As I read in Desmond King's book on shoji, setting up a Kiwa Kanna is a lot more work than a Hira Kanna, this proves it. Thank you for the valuable information

Great music! Top notch work setting up your plane. There is much more to tools than just using them until they quit working, it’s nice to see people are returning to the old ways and finding joy in owning and maintaining fine tools.

Thank you very much for this video. I've seen dozens of videos on setting up a Japanese plane, but some of the details you have highlighted i this one are invaluable. A question: is there a place In Japan (online) where we can purchase good quality special planes such as Kiwa kanna? I live in Europe

What is the size of your Kiwa Kanna blade? Very nice video. Music was a little too loud and I would just skip it.
