Why are these Men in the 5 Regiments proud to walk around with Dead Animal Skins On Their Heads ??!! You rarely see them cross the line with the Guards in Norway, Denmark, the Vatican, the Quirinale in Rome (the Presidential Palace), American Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and similar places because the "conduct" will be addressed, up to and including arrest. The UK is too nice. I saw a video recently of a tourist who purposely blocked a dismounted Horse Guard and stood there mocking the guard, who walked around him. @@MrCrystalwarrior1 they finally allowed women into the regiment? damn we're going downhill.
@MrCrystalwarrior12 жыл бұрын
@@Indigo-ke5dq Yes, they've been allowing women into all the Army regiments for years now, but they are not exactly welcomed by the male front line troops, who have to slow their rate of running to accommodate the lesser speed that women run at, have to distribute most of the woman's kit among the men, as they can't carry the full 60lb weight of regular equipment plus weapon and ammo, so that reduces the effectiveness of the male soldiers even more. Most regiments now place the women in support roles, as musicians, or administrative duties when on active deployment. I have friends in the Army who hate having a woman anywhere around them when on active duty, as they are a liability, have problems accepting orders that are given them if they deem them "un -feminine" and if they are placed anywhere near the front line, they have to be escorted everywhere, as if they are captured by enemy forces, they face being raped/abused and more, which further affects the morale of the male troops. My friends dread being assigned duties around female troops, even behind the lines, as they can also be a distraction to men who haven't seen a woman for a good while, and even the act of going around shirtless as men did in Afghanistan/Iraq had to be stopped, due to complains from the women about having to be around men who were half naked. Also there is the problem of men who have a lot of extra testosterone making lewd remarks/gestures toward the female troops that causes allegations of sexual harassment to be made against the men. From what I heard from my Army friends, the U.S Forces had a high rate of rape amongst their ranks, as they had both men and women in front line roles, and so quite a few of the men, after seeing friends wounded or killed in battle, would take out their frustrations on the women, and so sexual assaults/rapes were commonplace in Afghanistan/Iraq.

Just curious but those shoes make such a distinct sound. Those 2 people heard them from behind and moved. Is that one of the reasons to wear those shoes?
@johnking5174 Жыл бұрын
Their shoes are made to have a firm grip on the ground. This is why we can hear them very distinct.

They're called Ammo Boots. They're smooth leather with metal studs on the bottom, they were made to be very long lasting, that's it. The fact they make a crunching sound when they step is just because of the studs.

Yes they are armed, and will resort to force if necessary

@@julianpavitt4926 I know that 😁 the guy called them shoulders instead of soldiers. I just made a shoulders and arms joke....... I'll get my coat

@@andrewjohnston4127 They were also handed, legged, footed, fingered, toed, eared, eyed, nosed and eared. Very comprehensive shoulders, er, soldiers.

There is no messing or fooling around with the guards. They say move, you move, FAST! I know Windsor well, and the guards are always polite but if you are in their way, you will know about it. They do not mince their words if you are blocking their way.

How do they see from under those hats? Like the young guardsman at the end? It's all the way down on his nose.
@johnking5174 Жыл бұрын
They can see, it is just the effect of their hats that make it look they can't.

So the person who does all the filming, are they in uniform too (minus the bearskin) or in civvies?
