Thank you SOO much, this is exactly what I needed. I've tried so many tutorials in the past and have never been really happy with the result. But your process is exactly what I was looking for!

If you want to add texture you can use Oil Paint. Looks quite old.

Is this a free use brush. For example im trying to make a map for a story i want to publish. Would I be allowed to use this brush? (The one you offer to download)

Super helpful. Do you think of making tutorials to draw other map stuff as well?

That's strange import brushes doesn't appear on my side.

Hey Makil, I just checked in Photoshop Creative Cloud 2020 and the process should be the same. In your default Photoshop settings, open a new document then select window > brushes. In the top right had corner of the brushes tab there will be four lines. Clicking on those lines will open a drop-down menu. "Import brushes" is around half way through the list. select import, then click on the brush file provided in the description. I hope this helped, if it didn't or if you used a different version of Photoshop to follow this then I'm not sure where your brush window is. Sorry for any inconvenience.
