Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy learning how to make an alternative medium to achieve a glaze effect on your embellishments and mixed media projects. This is my first long video with me chatting and sharing every detail of the process. I suggest you grab a cuppa and scrap along while watching. This method I use to create the glazed look is very simple and only requires a couple of products which some of you may already have in your supplies. It's messy fun, a great mixed media creative play experience, and allows you to create whatever coloured glaze effect that you need. Please, let me know if you find this video useful and have any other techniques that you would like to learn about?

Hello Jenny, great to meet another Aussie, g'day mate! It is frustrating how sometimes it can take take weeks, sometimes months for product to arrive from the US to Australian stores. I feel for the Australian store owners, it's not their fault that the delays occur. Like you, I would prefer to buy all my product from Australian stores. I'm happy to say that with Tim Holtz's latest release stock was in some Australian stores ready to be sold on/next day after the live. I supported this productivity by purchasing some of the new TH dies...now if only Australia Post could sort themselves out, they are overwhelmed by all our online purchases.

Great use for the Impasto Gel Medium. For longer videos like this, I have no problem with speeding up to 1.75 or even 2 times faster and as I'm also an Aussie (from Perth), I have no trouble understanding you. I find some of the American videos talk too slow so they definitely get the speed treatment. A hint for you, if you're looking for a glass mat, the Pyrex glass mat from Big W in the kitchen section comes in 2 different sizes, around $11 and $14 and is a great cheap alternative to the bigger and more expensive craft glass mats. I also teach classes and these ones are small enough for the girls to transport easily to class and both sizes will take a 5" x 7" gel plate if you use one of those too. Off to peruse your other videos. 🙂

Hi Kelsey, nice to hear from a Perth Aussie. Thanks for the great tips. I use a large piece of black perspex (recycled) instead of a glass mat, its just too big and awkward to use for filming. Great idea, using a small, portable, pyrex glass mat sounds effective. Thanks for sharing.

Cindy...more alchemy! Tim is right (most of the time), it depends on what you are trying to achieve with the different solutions, many particular effects/techniques may result not how you expect. Trial and error testing is the way to go.

This particular one was at the request of some viewers, they prefered longer, real time, chatty videos, much like a 'live', so I gave it a go. @@leannewagnerart I also felt it took too long before you came to the mix. I was patient, and skipped part of the video to get to the mix first. You voice and everything is perfect, so no worries, just people might not want to wait that long for the mix and leave. Of course that's good too... so don't see this as critisism, just a tip.

Hi Conni, thank you for your feedback. As I am a new YT channel, I am trying out different styles of video creation, I was requested by other viewers to do long videos where I am discussing my thoughts and process (much like a live might be). I understand how not all viewers like this style of video, so at the moment I am creating both styles to trial. Surprisingly, this is the most viewed video and has gained the most subscribers, so some viewers do like this style. If you prefer short and sharp videos you may like this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYC6fGuJqa-ihJI Don't forget that if you find a video too long then you can easily skip through parts to get to the nitty gritty, I do that all the time.
