Hi Ryan, great video. I’m Interested in the idea of using the Gigster with a trigger (I have a Yamaha EAD10). The only thing that I was concerned about was that you might lose some of the sensitivity/dynamics through the seat that you would otherwise get with a mic. Triggers are much more “on/off” in their response, thus potentially becoming monotone and not getting truly accurate feedback, right?Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Yeah that’s certainly a slight drawback but to avoid the bleed from the bass player outweighs it in my opinion. I have my velocity curve set to linear so it does have dynamic but it’s certainly not the same as what a mic picks up.

I have a tm2 and a gigster. Currently using a kick mic but agree it picks up a lot from the bass player. I quite like it but I have to set the gain quite low as it can overdrive the amp. Do you use a sample from the tm2 or your own?

Yep a built in sample in the tm2. “Acoustic kick” works for me.

its crazy how similar our setups are. I rate my PandD gigster. Never thought to use a trigger though. Will experiment as I too suffer from bleed from Bass guitar. I even have my drumlites remote in the same place!! ha ha. Thanks for the vid.

The trigger makes a big difference in smaller venues. I'm now trying the Yamaha EAD through the p&d, will report back.
