First thing to mention is that this is not just tactile, it actually allows you to hear your bass drum through bone conduction. The seat has to have less padding to allow this conduction of noise to occur. The Porter and Davies throne is game changer, particularly when playing with bands and in a live setting

that is great input and some things I did not know. I'm tempted to use it with my acoustic kit in a live setting in order to see how that works... Honestly too, part of the reason the throne is less comfortable is it is a little wobbly on the base that I have it on. It wouldn't fit the base for my rock and soc throne so I bought a less expensive throne just for the base. That could have something to do with my negative experience. Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend

I've not tried a Porter and Davies, but I've been strongly considering one recently. I echo your sentiments on the comfort of Roc n Soc. I have 4 Roc N Soc thrones currently. I buy every one that pops up so that everyone in the jam room can have one. They're that comfortable. I personally think it's the hydraulic aspect that makes them so great, and if I do get a P&D I'll be using a Roc n Soc hydraulic base.

The challenge with the base is the post has to be a certain size (smaller than my roc and soc) so I think that’s why I perceive my porter and davies to be uncomfortable. At this point I don’t use my P and D at all.

You can use your ROC n SOC with a few simple modifications. I think that way, you’ll have the best of both worlds.

I wasn't able to use my Roc n Soc base because of the size of the post. The post on the base has a larger diameter than the Porter and Davies throne. That would have truly been the best of both worlds...

They need an “Edrums” version that gives you some rumble but doesn’t need to be so beefy. Make it $300ish and I’m in!

Looks like there may be slightly less expensive alternatives but they just cum as the transducer. You’d need a throne and additional parts to make it work. This is more or less a turnkey version… anyway, thanks for stopping by, hope you’re having a great weekend

Today I received my P&D Gigster. I tried it and I agree it’s less comfortable than my Tama seat.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not really using mine anymore, debating selling it...

@@SteveTheDrummer actually I found a way to sit comfortably. And I think a read it also somewhere. I sit more at the rear-end of the seat. And put the seat a little more closer to the drum and sit-up more straight. This way I can play comfortably. 👍🏼

Crazy price for half of a throne.

I know, right. It is crazy. I will say it’s fun though. Especially with edrums because you get some rumble off the toms too but totally insane pricing. Not sure if this is going in my keep or trade pile.?.?

I recently bought the P&D Gigster and it’s a game changer. Adds a whole new dimension to e-drumming.

It is a lot of fun no doubt. My initial impression is a little sour because of some trial and error I had to go through with getting the base of the stand to fit but now that it is together and working, it’s pretty cool. Still not sure its worth the price. I’m probably going to take it out late summer early fall when I return to giggling and use it with my acoustic kick drum. I genuinely appreciate your support, hope you’re doing well my friend
