My review of the Ryobi Garden Shredder/Crusher.
I paid for this out of my own pocket and this is solely my own review of this machine which I have had for about 6 months with several uses.
Today I am pruning my flowering plum tree using this shredder to test out how well it does on smaller thinner branches. Previously I had used on 2 huge bottle brush trees and it worked really really well by shredding/crushing up the smaller branches.
It doesn't shred up tree leaves that well but they will dry up and break down faster than the mulch.

Yes these Ryobi 2400w shredder machines are really great & got it to do palm fronds & demolishes them big time & then I used it to do some hedge branches & demolished them to but couldn't put anymore in as one of the branches got caught horizontally across the chamber shoot & I tried to get it out & it was jammed tightly in there bugger & so I took the side plate off & had to take out the scraper plate out & I used a spike tool to get the piece of branch out & it did the job getting it out & I put the scraper plate back not realizing that I had put the scraper plate around the wrong way around & had put everything back together & started it up & there it made a hell of noise & quickly stopped the machine & I looked down through the shoot & there were Pieces of Aluminum on the blades & I undone the screws that hold the side plate on & I couldn't get the side plate off & I went over the road to one of my neighbours & asked him to give me a hand & he said we are going to undo all the Philip screws & take the top piece off to get at it properly to get the side plate off & once got the side plate off it was a real mission getting the scraper plate off & my neighbor Larry used a hammer & a big screw driver to get the scraper plate off when he got that scraper plate out & hat a look at there was a crack at the top of the scraper plate & I couldn't claim warranty on it as it was my fault & I should have made sure that the scraper plate was around the right way around my bad & I only had brought the Ryobi 2400 Shredder machine on Saturday afternoon from Bunnings here in New Zealand bugger & I left the scraper plate & tried the Machine out to make sure that everything else was ok sure enough everything was fine & the motor ran sweet & Larry had checked & cleaned the blades before we had it it back together & there is no damage to the blades what so ever & its only the scraper plate that was damaged & I went back to Bunnings to order another scraper plate & I think it has to come from Australia & I should either today or tomorrow how much the scraper plate is my bad mistake & it could be a costly mistake to & it's a pitty that the piece of branch got stuck quite tightly in the chamber shoot but other than that the Ryobi 2400w Shredder Machine is a Brilliant SAFETY machine as it has a lot of SAFETY Features as well I would give this Ryobi 2400w Shredder Machine 10 out of 10 ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ & I couldn't be any Happier & it's a matter of waiting for a New scraper Plate & the lady at the ordering counter & I told her I only brought it only on Saturday afternoon & has a 4 Year Warranty & this case it's not under Warranty as it was my BIG MASSIVE MISTAKE BY PUTTING THE ALUMINUM SCRAPER PLATE AROUND THE WRONG WAY AROUND MY BAD & Larry said I had put it the wrong way around & the curved side of the scraper plate goes towards the blades & I didnt even look at it & I just put in Bugger & I was in tears to when I looked down the chamber shoot & seeing Aluminum Pieces on the blades Kind Regards Peter

I am really sorry to hear of this issue Peter. Especially as you only had it a few days. Thankyou for sharing this with us and letting us know which way round the scraper plate goes and it was good you had Larry to help you with it. I hope you receive the new plate quickly so you can get to use it again. I totally agree that this machine is of a very high safety standard and well worth the money. I will be using mine again shortly when I trim back my plum tree annually. When I used mine to mulch up a bottle brush branches the mulch is still on the ground around some trees out the back from when I first did that video. Hi Cher Love I can get the what they call a Shaving Plate & once I pay Bunnings New Zealand for this Shaving Plate it will have to come from Ryobi Australia & arrive at Bunnings New Zealand in 5 to 10 working days once I've paid for the Shaving Plate & the Gentleman that I spoke to at Ryobi New Zealand gave me the part number for this Ryobi 2400w Shredder Machine & you have a Lovely Beautiful Night Cher ❤😂 PS Cher it's a really good video that you have made on Utube & how that Ryobi 2400w Shredder Machine really works well for you to Cher Love & it is very nice easy to maneuver around on the section Cher Love 😅 Kind regards Peter

​​@@downundervlogs Hi Cher Love I have ordered the Shaving Plate & also comes with the adjustable knob as well as a complete unit for the price of $52.11 which I thought wasn't a bad price & now it's just a matter of time for it to arrive at Bunnings & the lady at the ordering counter she will ring me when it arrives & it be within 5 to 10 working days & Cher Love I had a close look at in the video the Pieces of long thin branches in the bin were still quite long you can screw in the adjusting knob just little bit but too much & just enough to break the long thin branches down into very small pieces & that will do the trick Cher just turn the adjust the knob just a fraction at a time & when trying it out & check the long thin branches & to see each time that those branches have broken down into very small Pieces but Cher dont Cher dont turn it too much at a time & you don't want the shaving plate to touch the blades & the shaving plate should be 1mm away from the blades & have a Lovely Nice Day Cher Love ❤😊 Kind Regards Peter PS Cher do you live in New Zealand to? or do you live in Australia?

There’s a knob on the side you can turn to make it grind up smaller stuff it’s on the left-hand side 10 anti-clockwise for smaller things

You can adjust the size of mulch you prefer via the side white knob.

@@downundervlogs yup we sure do. Yesterday i bought 5 of them in a repairmans clearance sale here in Fiji for F$15 each. None of them have bins. So I'll bypass the switch to make it work and see how it goes. My wife owns a nursery so i thought it'll be useful for here and sure she was excited to know what these machines do. Besides I'm curious to see if it can do coconut husks which is also what she asked me to build sometime back.

You want yo adjust the blade adjuster so all the twiggs get cut? 👍

This unit also crushes and partly chips small twigs and branches. It does cut very well up to 4.5cm.

Hi Cher I have now received the Shaver Plate for the Ryobi 2400w Shredder Machine & that was very great service from Bunnings Takanini New Zealand & I'm in filling out a review to Bunnings for the Excellent Quality Service from Bunnings Takanini New Zealand & I couldn't be any Happier Kind Regards Peter & once I've got the Shaver Plate back in place of the Ryobi 2400w Shredder Machine I'm going to measure 1mm from the blades to the Shaver Plate & adjust to suit so it is exactly 1 mm from from the blades even if it is 1& 1/2 mm from the blades & that should break up very thin branches Kind Regards Peter & Have Lovely Nice Beautiful Good Night Cher😆

What makes you think this Ryobi 2400w Shredder Machine is useless well it works for me for do Palm fronds & this Shredder Machine does short work of these Palm Fronds & it is an Excellent Quality Shedder Machine & has a 4 Year Warranty & you can't beat that Sir
