This panettone is very simple to make and is incredibly delicious, I'm sure you'll love it!
Sponge Ingredients (cup size: 200ml)
- 1 1/2 cup of flour (150g) (5.3 oz)
- 1 tablespoon of instant dry yeast (10g) (0.35 oz)
- 3/4 cup of milk (150ml) (5 fl oz)
Remaining ingredients (cup size: 200ml)
- 4 cups of flour (400g) (14 oz)
- 1/2 cup of sugar (80g) (2.8 oz)
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon of salt (5g) (0.17 oz)
- 3 tablespoons of butter or margarine (75g) (2.6 oz)
- 1/3 cup of milk (70ml) (2.4 fl oz)
- 1 teaspoon of orange zest
- 1 teaspoon of lime or lemon zest
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence (15 ml) (0.5 fl oz)
- 1 cup of candied fruit (120g) (4.2 oz)
- 1/2 cup of raisins (45g) (1.6 oz)

I made this last week, mistakenly with only 7 grams of yeast. It was very dense of course. So I made a Bread and Butter Pudding with it. With milk, eggs and a little butter. It was delicious. I'll do the 2nd try tonight.
