Adding hours for you.🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔 Thanks for this video, I will need to start making these whiskey taps to supplement my grocery allowance as the government has taken half of my food stamps away. I am 66 years old just had a triple bypass, my left hand is not working properly since the operation and I was one of the hotshot guitar players in Denver with 30 guitars that I can't play anymore. Thanks again and in a couple summers I"ll try to do my own KZbin channel showing how I paint psychedelic guitars. You've been like a guardian angel showing me how to do these whiskey taps. @@epeiusgarage I traced five guitars, a Les Paul, an Explorer, SG, Telecaster and Stratocaster on to MDF and using the cutouts as templates. I built an art studio just like Kathleen Miller from YT (Kathleen Miller Paint Pouring )Channel. I will practice her techniques this summer using the MDF blanks as canvases. I will definitely send some pictures of the artwork once I feel confident that I have mastered the technique. The studio is ready but I'm still fighting this major depression from the open heart surgery. Thanks again for showing me how to make those whiskey decanters. I just made some of these, and one thing I can suggest is, when you drill the glass, drill SLOWLY! If you go fast the glass can splinter and shard on the inside of the block, and those pieces are larger than the hole you drill, and it’s a pain to get them out.

So I showed it in the video but I first use a hose set on high power stream. Flush it really good. Then after the spout is set and cured I perform a leak test and final rinse. Then I give a look holding it up to light for anything that might be left. You have to perform your QA checks👍

Hey Andy, how do you know where and what size hole in the frame for the stopper?
@epeiusgarage
@epeiusgarage Жыл бұрын
Hey Mark, so I kinda figured out measurements I use now every time. I put a 1-1/4” hole in the frame about 1-1/2” down from top and 1-1/4 in from the front. Then on my glass I mark the hole 1-1/4” down and 1-1/4” in. Best way to find yours is place your hole in the frame first before assembly then when your cutting holes in the glass figure out where you need it based off of the frame. Hope this helps

@@epeiusgarage Thanks for the reply. I have made a couple of these and I have found that the blocks vary enough that they are not always snug or too snug. I do measure every one and have to adjust the size of the box sometimes. I like them to be snug so they don't easily slide out. I may be too picky :). Most times if I need to snug them up I use self adhesive felt and line the inside of the box so that the block can still be removed if need be, but not easily slide out if someone picks it up and tilts it. I suppose the stopper will prevent them from sliding out.
