Incredible sound. I'm an 18yr old aspiring producer and I find your videos extremely helpful. Not many music production channels out there have got it down as precise and high quality as you. I learn something new in every video and am able to apply it to my own music. Thanks so much!

Sounds gorgeous Janus! And funnily I've never thought about automating the filter in a rectangular way, except for with an lfo. Love that this feels like a controlled sample & hold!

The envelop is a great tip ! And the secret for having good sounding synths is : delay, reverb, saturation, compression. Otherwise it's too dry. At a point when you're producing, you buy a lot of plugins, you're always look at videos with people with great synths. Sometimes you do a lot of layering. And one day you realize that it's mainly mixing issue and that perhaps one synth is enough for your melody if it's well mixed.

Man, thanks, Janus! Ive been binge watching your production tips since discovering you via the 2 degrees of separation (Olafur Arnalds, then Kiasmos, and then you), and I'm really thankful for your approach as CREATIVE tips rather than just functional tips. It really helps to inspire the important stuff: the music, especially once you've saturated yourself in all the basics of production. And I hear all these strange and wonderful types of things in your actual music. So, yeah man, this channel is really unique. Thanks again!
