The DAC chip used here is an entry level chip, usually used my most brands for their entry level product and are generally priced in Rs. 600 to Rs. 1100 price range. This product seems to have advantage in case of build quality but charges a premium of Rs.1000 or more over other brands. Audiocular D11 which is priced below Rs.2000 comes with a much more premium DAC from Cirus Logic. I have used a Meizu Hi Fi pro with that same cirus logic DAC and it performs way above the DAC used in this product. Disclaimer - I have not used this product but have used product with the same DAC as used in this product and also have not used Audiocular D11.

I bought it just to test a DAC/Amp at this price. I am pleasantly surprised! I liked it so much that I kept it and had some prolonged listening sessions. I found that with some IEMs, like the Final A5000, it reveals imperfections in poorly recorded tracks and they do not sound well. Other than that, this has no flaw. The sonic performance and the build quality are a steal at this price! Thanks for reviewing and highlighting that microphone passthrough feature which is very easy to miss.

Sir while searching a similar dongle dac on Amazon I came accross Audiocular D07 which provides CX31993 DAC and MAX97220 Amplifier. Sir my question is does all the dac with same chip CX31993 have an amplifier chip as well? Or is it not necessary for that dac to have an amplifier chip? Does this ddhifi dongle dac also has an amplifier chip?
@PaulsPOV4 ай бұрын
The ddHiFi does have an Amp chip. Having an Amp chip always helps with a boosted signal. I haven't tested the Audiocular so can't really comment on it, but usually, different brands tune their chips at the output analog stage, so it might have a slightly different tuning.
@faiz23604 ай бұрын
@@PaulsPOV So it's better to go with ddhifi dongle dac?? If having the dac chip is not only the specification, rather they have tunning too.

If you don't have access to Hi-Res Audio, it doesn't make sense to pick up something like this. Pairing it with compressed audio may only showcase a better amping in sound, not detail or resolution in your audio, you need Hi-Res audio for that.
@nachiketpargaonkar86464 ай бұрын
@@PaulsPOV Okay, so either FLAC or AAC audio files must be there
@PaulsPOV4 ай бұрын
Preferably. Right now, the easiest thing for lossless audio is Apple Music. I think it costs about 99 rupees a month for a subscription, and they have up to 192/24 sample rate and bit depth, which is good. So pairing this dongle dac with that and a good set of IEMs is the way to go.

Which one do you think is better for my 1000XM5 (Wired Mode)? Headphone Zone x DDHiFi or Abigale Pro or anything else you're aware of? I am new to this as my old phone had a 3.5mm jack and this one doesn't. A few of my audiophile friends suggested thr normal c to 3.5mm converters will produce bad output so I am looking for a budget DAC.
@PaulsPOV9 ай бұрын
I haven't tested the Abigail Pro, but to my knowledge, it doesn't have a dedicated amp chip like this ddHi-Fi one does. This one pushes out 65mW @32 Ohms so should work perfectly fine with the XM5. Another one I've really come to like is the iFi Go Link. I think it'll do really well with the XM5. Feel free to give my review on it a look if you haven't already.

That's a very interesting concept. I wonder if anyone is working on it. Having a strong magsafe like connector might be cool. But of the few I've tested, this ddHiFi is the most solid one I've handled. I think shanling has one with a USB C female port, so you can use a cable to connect it between device and dac amp.
