Great idea adding another chamber! That would increase the time before the SoC overheats. May I suggest one thing, when running the synthetic test, be sure to run it 3 times in each iteration and take average values? This way you can insure that the score is accurate and there isn't anything influencing the results, like apps running in background or Android doing something.
@PBKreviews2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The test I ran was sped up 5000x because its a 20 min test that repeats the test 20 cycles and gives the best loop score as well as the worst loop score and displays the graph to see how it was averaging. So in essence I ran it more then 3 times :)

Doing the test with the phone lying on a flat surface is not ideal, because the heat dissiipation via the back surface is hampered. If I may I would suggest that you do the test with the phone in vertical position, so that the back can emig the heat to the ambient air. Keeping a note of the ambient temperature would also be valuable for comparison.
@PBKreviews2 жыл бұрын
True, I was just considering in reality the phone would be in someones hands so the hands would be covering the back while it was in use. But yeah if I wanted to see the highest results that would be a good idea.

I had an old galaxy a7 2016 which got to freaking 92°c.I applied thermal paste on the processor and ram which made them dissipate heat to the aluminum frame.The temperatures dropped drastically from 92°c to only 70°c.The phone reached 70°c in the worst case scenario.After doing this only the side metal rail got a bit hot because the processor was now dissipating heat to something.The old thermal solution was a joke.It was a super small and a very thin thermal pad which dissipated the heat from the processor to a thin copper film which would conduct the heat back towards the motherboard.I also applied thermal paste to the backside of the processor.

PBK, I wanna get a S24 Ultra from my S22 Ultra, I'd like to see if we could try and drop temps as low as possible. The 2 Degrees is impressive, and the stability increased, while most likely not huge I'd like to see if battery life improved. While most modern laptops seem to go long enough for most, the cooler running SOC, RAM, Storage, alongside a Debloation tool may add enough battery saving alongside the 3nm Single Core / Efficiency to make the upgrade worthwhile. Think we could do something in the future?
@bulletpunch93177 ай бұрын
Cooler running will usually use more power since the throttling will now be less. Unless the battery is affected by the temps so much it drains faster.

Personally I'd first replace the stock battery, then take the phone apart some more and fabricate an aluminum backplate and attach a vapor chamber on it so it makes contact with the SOC. Then I'd change the operating system with a custom kernel with overclocking functionality. If you pair all of this cooling and power and fresh battery and a more optimized OS with an external phone cooler, that cools the aluminum backplate down, you can possibly run your device with at least 60% more clock speed if not double (stability may take a hit after 75% increase) I did these steps with my Razer phone 2 from 2018. Pixel experience aura build, took out the LED RGB and replaced the battery, put an aluminum backplate on and attached a secondary vapor chamber on it.. the phone now runs at 3ghz all the time with no issues and 3.2ghz if I really need the horse power and if I need extra cooling, the modifications I have made already makes it extra efficient.

Are Xiaomi vapor chambers safely removable? To take it from a frame part of old Poco phones? without any hole or cut
@159tony6 ай бұрын
@@alitef5191 no clue if they are. Some phones glue them to the frame, in which case it is safely removable, you just have to use extreme caution. A heat gun, acetone or high grade alcohol can undo the adhesive. Or a combination thereof. Personally I'd check for all. Heat is unlikely to work alone since it is purpose built to hold under heat.. try acetone or high grade alcohol.. if you have access to everclear, try that. If it's 190 proof, it should do fine for this purpose if the adhesive is soluble with alcohol. (190 proof is 95% alcohol by volume)

I'm wondering if placing a peltier module cooler on a Nintendo switch will have the same effect. I'm seeing a lot of magnetic phone coolers equipped with peltier modules or TECs.
@PBKreviews2 жыл бұрын
I'm not too familiar with peltier module cooling, but I would think something like that doesn't really transfer heat away from the component rather than just providing a somewhat cooler surface against the component. Again not too sure since I'm not familiar with those. The phone coolers have a fan usually which also draws or displaces the surface heat so with that in combo with a peltier module cooler I would see some cooling.
