So elegant, interesting and beautiful! The top and the transfer transformed a dull piece into a statement piece. The base color is so compatible with the light olive. Hi Crys'Dawna, beautiful and inspirational as always. Question: do you wind up pitching your microfiber towels after using them in the painting and/or stripping process? I'm always conflicted about the waste generated by my DIY projects. I do have a ton of microfiber towels (collected them from work-mates at a big box hardware store--we were supposed to toss them when they got too dirty--but, srsly, dirt and dust mostly wash out!!) so while I can 'afford' to pitch them, I'd rather not. Do you have a system for keeping costs/waste down in your adventures? Thanks!

As far as I remember she said in another video that it depends: dirt washes out, but if the cloth has wax or paint/stain on it, she throws them away. I personally have the same concerns (for that reason I scoop things into old yoghurt or ice-cream containers with lids on) but there's not always something I can do about the towel situation. Theoretically you can cut up old shirts or something like that to use for these projects, but sometimes you need a lint-free solution.

Love this piece! Really want to try that stripper. Trying to find one (besides Citrus Strip) that isn’t loaded with harsh chemicals is next to impossible. Wow! I used your link to go buy the transfer (then realized that my dear sweetheart drove off with my wallet and visa this am I have to wait--ugh) AND THERE WAS THIS PIECE I just watched you paint. Really cool! I'm using the transfer on a dresser that I've practicing your blending techniques on. I watched 👀 the kidney donor post a million times where you teach us blending kudzu into limeade into daisy. I made it easier lol-- first made a mix of buttercream with daisy then did the blend with those 3 colors. I think it's a really good first attempt and I'm proud of it. Today I'm adding a bit of stencil and when the transfer gets here I can add a bit of that and burnish burnish burnish lol. Will the transfer adhere to a layer of topcoat? Wondering if I should add protection while I wait for my wallet to get home and the transfer to get here. Sometime can you talk a little bit about getting pieces/thrifting in Germany? Great transformation once again. After you use the micro fiber cloths to apply the walnut stain and work with the stripper, do you wash them and reuse or do you have to throw them out?

I decided to hand sand an old piece due to some uneven varnish and then wiped down and used stain block water based primer before I do a light colored chalk paint. Immediately there was yellowing and a water stain showed through. Three layers of primer later and it's still discolored. Any ideas what I should do before painting?

Sometimes….pieces are a pain in the BUTT. Where are you located? Many times with those pieces that just won’t quit I use shellac and spray it over the areas that keep bleeding. I assume you did but sometimes I leave it over night let it all lock in and come back and do one more coat to see if it will bleed. You definitely want to get it blocked because when you go to seal it those tannins will come back to haunt you :)
