@arccaptain-weld I am interested I one of your machines ìi have a Lincoln pro 180 and am very happy with it but if I can buy 1 machine that I can mìg and tig weld with and also stick weld well its a no brainer. What I need to know do you use the same gas for mig and tig or does it take a different gas ?

I reviewed the ARCCAPTAIN MIG 200 on my channel too and I still feature it from time to time when I use it on welding jobs....love it....I tried to burn it up and couldn't do it...I ran it so hard the coating was melting off of the welding cables but it just kept welding. Did you notice the light inside the cabinet to help you see the drive roll area?...that's a thoughtful feature. I'm using the MIG 200 on site now welding thin galvanized steel on some bleachers at baseball field. I really like the ARCCAPTAIN flux core wire on that stuff. I tried ARCCAPTAIN wire against Lincoln NR-211 and found that I like the ARCCAPTAIN flux core wire better. Great review you...thank you

I am 75. soon to be 76 and I took a year of welding in high school. Only AC & DC arc welding and acetylene gas welding were taught as there were not any Mig welders back then. I had an old used Lincoln wire feed welder that only used flux core and had two settings, High & Low years later. I convinced my wife to buy me this welder for Christmas last year and she agreed, but said it had to remain in the box so she could wrap it and put it under the Christmas tree LOL. I have used the arc weld feature as that is what I am most comfortable with, and the flux core as I didn't have any gas till recently. I am just now learning how to Mig weld with gas. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?? Just wanted to say that your video is the best one I have watched on this welder. You did a very good job at explaining how everything works and how to start with the settings, and where you are used to welding. I watched every review I could find before deciding to purchase this welder, and yours is very informative without all the technical jargon. Thanks, Jim Light

I have always welded vertical down for all my railings. The welds are clean. And I don't have to worry about penetration because the metal is not that thick it's 1/8. Great review by the way. I'll also be buying this machine in the near future

That was a really engaging and on-point look at one of the new batch of low-cost multi-process machines. It wasn't too down in the weeds on details or cut & polish analysis on welds, just overall features and function. It seemed more geared to the knowledgeable beginner, but the test runs were all very practical. Great review!

@@ich1ban916 lots of people including myself just use co2. the gas is cheaper, the bottles too. you can use soda bottle or keg type. the welds aren't as clean as mix gas but way way nicer than flux core. youll also get to be a better welder because youll have a better sense of what a good weld looks like.

Just bought the welder. Love the channel. Have a 1964 chevy P10 I am building out for fun. Going to add skirts to it with this welder. Starting with flux core. Maybe u could do a video for us beginners with some flux core tips and spot welding for 20 guage sheet metal by making holes in the sheet metal and spot welding the 20 guage sheet metal to 1 inch square 1/8th thick stock behind as the support for the skirt. Love the collabs between u and half assed also!

I have been welding for 51 years and have over that time welded lots of cast iron with mig. You dont try and weld the parts directly together, you butter each side with mig then join the two buttered layers together with the last pass, plain wire works quite well for things like cracks in water jackets but if you want greater strength use stainless wire.

Thank you for the Master Class on the MIG200. I need to weld some patch panels into an old tin-can cab on a Ford AA. My current welder just blows through it (like trying to weld a tin can back together). Interesting is the spot welder feature on the MIG200!

That thing works great and your skills are commendable.i just got a CTS200 from amico power that has stick ,tig, and plasma but was over double the money. No mig. Gotta love the rate at which technology is advancing .when i started in the 80s it was brazing and stick only. Let me start by saying that I absolutely love the channel and the content you put out Karl. Watched this review and decided to pull the trigger on the welder and arccaptians plasma cut50. I was just getting ready to replace the circuit board in my Hobart for the second time. It is now on the shelf. This Mig200 welds better than the Hobart by far. I have been surprised at the functionality and performance of this machine. The Cut50 plasma performs equally as well. Thanks for the review Karl, would have never purchased these without it.

Not only a great review but I learned more on how to use the welder from watching this video than I did reading the instruction manual which I found a little hard to understand. That is another vote for Arc Captain. A number of the other channels I watch, like Brandon Lund or Lift Arch Studios have all given the same thumbs up for the Arc Captain - shame it is not available in Aus from what I can tell. I just bought a cheap Mig, Tig and Plasma cutter machine for Aus $280.00 ( chinese GIANT brand), which is about the same in CAD$ I have tried the Stick and the Mig - HF start so Not lift ARC / Scratch Tig - but Hot Start, and I must say I am impressed . It cuts up to 6.0 mm 1/4" with good results also . so Ideal for car resto and Fab work. I am have good success as I teach myself to weld. Getting ready to take on a rat rod project at young age of 61. Spanered on cars a nd bikes for 45 years but never done metal fab till recently - Covid gave me plenty of KZbin time here in Melbiurne Aus , as we were locked down for some 200 days. Love your stuff Karl.

Great machine. Had a couple of cheaper myself. One you get to regulate the weld by travel speed and time in the weld pool. It welded everything on the same setting. It could weld anything however . Happily joined big stuff and thin material had to be a series of starts. The next one went upmarket by double the price and lower rated amperage . Stil Chinese build with many options but no spot weld . Well this was interesting and a real fine cheapie. not a bad demo Karl.

My previous ‘old school’ transformer style welder meant my welds mostly looked like snot. Now I’m able to lay down some decent welds!! As well as it’s multi-function ie MIG, Stick, LiftTIG etc. If you’re serious about doing some projects buy one of these new generation welders. They are worth every penny!!

I think unless you're welding frames for buildings or heavy equipment etc. where structural integrity is king, then vertical down is probably going to be fine right? Might not want to do it on a car chassis, but if you're just putting together a workbench go for it?

I´d take a stick welder over a small mig every day of the week for thicker material. Its far to easy to make welds that look good but are not structurally sound with a MIG, especially with a small one that dont have the oomp to go into spray transfer.

🦘🇦🇺 🤔 I'm just wondering if Elio could use a tinted(?) lens sometimes when filming you welding, it would be great to see your whip technique in real time.

My brother bought a inverter welder similar to that . First time we used it I welded 8mm plate so I turned it up all the way. I quickly realised wow that's way too high. So after using it for 20 minutes I asked how much he paid ( $500 Aus). I quickly transferred $500 to his account and his new welder, was now my new welder😂. 3 years later everything from panel steel to structural I can't fault it. And I transport it often very sturdy machines. 👍

was watching your new DIY gas tank video today. in the video I see this familiar red welding box. ....did he get an Arccaptain? turns out I found your review here. interesting in that a few weeks ago I bought the cheaper TIG Arccaptain 200 for not a lot of money. DC Tig. Tiny. Welds like a champ other than the torch and cord are heavy. I put my expensive Everlast under a tarp. so yes, Arccaptain does make some good stuff. and my beads look good too.

I am new to your channel. Your welding skills are second to none! Going to purchase one of these welders. What pattern do you use when welding or is the one of you video tiles I can watch where you explain this technique? Thanks!
