Nice to see someone with an informative video and not just some short generic instructional with horrible music over the top of it

wouldnt it be easier to just freeze gallon jugs of water and put those in the cooler instead of dealing with loose melting ice? and there wouldnt be as much moisture being blown into the room i think?

Good idea, then you can drink the water when it thaws
@jordanfrancis16445 ай бұрын
You can also reuse the melted water to refill the jugs for refreezing,and reuse in these DIY coolers .🥶❄️

It is a good idea, but as my fridge isn't that big, I just cannot have the room for these big jugs. But if you did, then I would surely use them.

Could this be used in your tent during warm evenings for cooling down the tent as well?

We use ice cream salt to make our ice colder & last longer for fishing when catching bait & preserving it , I feel like it would help this .

I’m curious as if I could use a double method system ,by combining both your tube design with reusable ice packs around a duct tubing leading around the blocks and ice for longevity and low consumption of materials in the lower compartment of the ice cooler. As well as having a second fan directly flowing air on top of cubed ice from ice trays on top of the lower system and once all of the cubed ice is melted simple drain the cooler at the end of the day and put back into trays and next day repeat the system. Hypothetically being as cool as the crushed ice system and as efficient as the tube system. Cooling off the area affected faster and not compromising much of the efficiency it might melt faster but it’s self sufficient in a way materials need be bought once and all can be reused and refrozen. Just a thought as well as adding insulation and making the tubing taper and be longer so it has to travel through the ice a further distance within itself and cooling to a lower temperature before exiting the tube on the other end. And as for the top system with direct ice and a separate fan it could use the same system as it passing through the ice not just over the ice with maybe a double rack design just sitting above the bottom system. I could maybe draw a rough diagram to explain further. Also would pvc work well with the tubing system or would it not cool enough? A lot of factors I’m considering and thinking about please respond if possible maybe we could discuss it more!!!!

Has anyone ever tried recirculating the ice box air that goes to the fan? Don’t want to create a vacuum or else it wouldn’t work so you’d probably want some small holes just slightly below the ice and stuffing air check valves in them. The small holes below the ice would of course bring in the warm air but since it’s slightly below the ice it cools off before reaching the fan. The biggest thing that might correct the vacuum and water leaking is an air check valve. You’d need 4 or more holes for this recirculating method assuming it works. Maybe i’ll try it someday. Assuming this works you could possibly slow the ice melting having a longer lasting DIY AC.

That's a good explanation but i think you should've explained that it's just for these specific design of DIY air coolers, not all. There are several other designs that are around, including ones with radiators or transmission oil coolers in the coolers in and even outside the cooler. Your video does make it seem like you've covered all the possible ways to build these things
