So I have the Inspire 3 and it's nothing short of incredible..... this entire workflow does in fact carry over, can't wait to share with you the insane 8k 75fps anamorphic footage. I will be posting my workflow, footage and detailed review next month with the DJI embargo. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/dji-inspire-3/ci/56181/BI/21158/KBID/20289

and yes its insanely expensive, but keep in mind this is the flag ship drone for DJI and pilots who get hired on film sets with this type of drone charge $2500-$4,000 PER DAY! So its wildly expensive and out of reach to most, but there are working professionals that are already forking over the money because of the insane upgrades offered. Cant wait to share with you all my thoughts on it. But for all of us other mortals, the i2 anamorphic for the w.

So I got connected with Carbide. I sent them my pitch and they marketing director happened to be a fan of my work, and greenlit a demo unit of the Nomad 3. Now the only thing left I need to sort is the Lathe part. I know nothing about lathes, but essentially in order to do the overhang of the lens mount, I will need to CNC, then attach to lathe and create the groove. Anyone have some recommendations on a lathe? I'm total newb here, not sure if I should try to get something new or look for an older one.
@richard-sim
@richard-sim Жыл бұрын
@@MAKEARTNOWCHANNEL I have a ton of experience with lathes - in January I wrapped up a full rebuild of one from 1988 and run lathe classes at my local hackspace (when I have time, hah...). For a lens mount you'd be able to get away with a pretty small lathe since it's just a small piece of aluminum with no particularly high precision requirements - but the bigger question is, do you want a tool that'll let only let you make that project, or one that'll let you tackle more difficult projects as your needs grow? Depending on where you're located, you may be able to find a well-priced large used lathe for not much more than a small new lathe. A good lathe will last a very, very long time if well maintained (or even if not!), so it's hard to go wrong with a used lathe for someone just starting out. Another option is to find a local makerspace/hackspace that has a lathe and see if there's someone to teach you to use it! Alternatively, if it's just for an overhang you can likely use a t-slot cutter in the CNC. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss this stuff - I've lived it for many years!

Very interesting, we also use weights on our drone for racing, for some spec races that require a minimum weight to slow everyone down on the course. People have also used tungsten, lead, and the most popular for smaller drones was tire weights.

Dude.. Amazing timing. Just got myself an Inspire 1. I know, I know. Old tech. As a Part 107 pilot for a few years now, I'm experienced with Mavics, phantoms, and FPV drones, but never a big boy "cinema" rig. I'm now super excited to experiment with the interchangeable m4/3 mount on the X5R. Which is also great because I run a Panasonic setup, so I already have some lenses and newly purchased ones will be available to use with my main camera. Anyways, this was a great video to give me some ideas going forward! Thanks!

Thanx very much! that tungsten density conclusion is the way to go for counterweights, maybe for everything about filming (loved the dark comedy behind the toxic and radioactive materials). You are almost completing your new Rigs for Anamorphia. Hyper focal distances for manual focus lenses in a Drone is a great solution, until someday comes out a follow focus motor with LIDAR like in the Ronin 4D. If Inspire 3 is not that impressive, is because maybe DJI could had made this Follow focus system for it, and make a difference proportional to the ronin 4d release impact. Greetings

Almost turned into "I broke the Inspire 2" lol. I'm curious to see the results of the TTArtisan 50mm f/0.95 because I got one to do a review video and honestly in my opinion, the f/0.95 is not what I expected. It performs very much the same as the f/1.4 regarding light and depth except there's a lot more fringing as well as vignetting/blur around the edges unfortunately. I own the 35mm f/1.4 and honestly it performs more to my expectations than the 50mm f/0.95. Oh, by the way, the TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 is literally the smallest lens I have ever used and it weighs only 180g, so I'd love to see that one take a spin on the Inspire 2.
@mjodr
@mjodr Жыл бұрын
I think the f/0.95 is more of a gimmick. I think they have to take too many compromises. I've never really understood the appeal honestly. I find on my f/1.8 and f/1.4 lenses I'm never wide open and many times I get great shots with the right DoF and bokeh at f/4!
