Hey, really nice video. I was concerned when I bought my first car and I didn’t get any window washer fluid. I tried to ignore it for as long as possible. Until I was driving one afternoon and the sun was going down. I took a turn and my whole windshield was covered in dirt I hadn’t ever noticed. It almost caused me to run off the road. My right front and back tires were completely off the road at one point. So I had to stop and wait for the sun to go down a bit. So thank you for the video, you may not know it but more that likely there’s been a few people in my same situation that watched this and going to fix it this way. So once again, thanks from me and everyone in my situation.

Always carry windex and a roll of paper towels in your car. It also helps if your A/C id down and you are fogging. Clean the crap out of the inside of the windshield and the water has nothing to stick to.

Mate, you have a really good tutorial voice. Seriously, you could do it professionally! *edit* After watching the video, you don't just have the voice for it, but you make a very well done tutorial. Very comprehensive and thorough, clear, direct, and easy to understand. Just a top notch no bullshit tutorial! Seriously after all the tutorials I have watched on KZbin for a huge range of topics, I think this has been the best I have ever watched. Bravo.

As someone who has very little knowledge of car repairs, cars in general, I must say the way you described everything was extremely easy to follow and understand. I never leave reviews on random KZbin videos, in fact this is my first and only, but I must say thank you! Great video ! And you have a knack for explaining things! If you are not a teacher you should be!

This video is amazing however I would highly recommend anyone trying to fix their washer system to check the easiest things first. I followed the video chronologically and disassembled my whole bumper to get to the pump and realized it was working properly but wasn't receiving power. The issue was a fuse which I could have checked in 5 minutes instead of the hours I spent on the bumper.

I had my windshield replaced, and my wiper fluid didn't work after that. Even though the fluid hose wasn't in the same location as in your video, you helped me trace to where it came up-- and to where the other part of the hose where it was disconnected was located, leading to the sprayers! Thanks for this great trouble-shooting video!

Thanks for your video, I have a focus 2007 so I have checked the fuse, cleaned the pump and replaced, but it was working anyway, but its cheap, to buy checked the nosels, so the only thing is to check the relay, so hopefully I find the right one, your videos are simple to understand, also no water was coming from under the bonnet to the spray nosels, so it could be the relay in the engine bay.

awesome video, thank you! I googled the price to have the front washer motor replaced and immediately called my son to see if he was available. Your video convinced me that it was not worth >$500 to replace it but instead ask my son to troubleshoot and repair instead.
@TheWhitde2 жыл бұрын
Front one was stuffed... so pulled all out and found front motor needed replacing. Tested on my 12V supply. Ordered new and got for $11. Put in and didn't work. Checked fuses etc... then after watching this noticed I was pushing the wrong button. Now works. Prob saved $200+ by the time an auto electrician found the fault, charged $100 for the part and labor.

Good video. Thank you very much. Your systematic diagnosis is applicable to just about all potential problems one could face in cars. I once found ants in the washer nozzle. They seek water and ended up in the washer bottle, and then got sucked into the lines.

If your motor runs, fluid doesn’t come out, before you replace anything, check the filter from reservoir to pump. It may be clogged with gunk. This will also inhibit fluid from entering the pump. As a friendly reminder...Make sure your reservoir is empty before doing so or you will lose fluid quick
@javierserranoyoutube3 жыл бұрын
I think this is the issue I have on my 2015 Ford Escape. The pump buzzes but no fluid neither on the front nor rear nozzles.

@@MrDave1963 this was 3 years ago on my pilot. If I remember right, I emptied the reservoir and the filter was underneath. I followed the hose to the pump or you can follow the windshield hoses to the pump. I had a crack in the line and one of the nozzles was clogged.

My Tundra would spray when the hood was open only. I didn't realize it and changed the pump. Again, it sprayed with the hood open but when I closed the hood it didn't spray. By accident I found the hose pinched by the hood bumper at the rear corner. Pulled the slack out of the hose and it works fine.

Before replacing the switch, I would disconnect the hose directly at the pump, take cheap wire (like stereo wire) and go directly from battery to pump for 1/2 a second. if the pump fires and squirts, then you can figure it is the switch... To make it lower amperage and easier, I might use a 12V battery from a hand tool or deer feeder (for example).

Nozzles can be also removed with 2 credit cards. With the hood closed, push from the front and the back of the nozzle. That is where the clips are. This is useful when there is no access. Like Toyota Sienna. Make sure not to lose the hose.

Don’t overlook the hoses being clogged up too as old windshield fluid can become gunky. All my 3 nozzles were ok and so was the pump. My rear nozzle however wasn’t spraying and when I checked the hose, there was a long piece of rubber/gunk like material inside it.

My problem is that the liquid is not coming out of the nozzles. The pump works, reservoir stays full of fluid, nothing moves out of the tank. I am guessing the screen in the reservoir tank must be clogged up. I took the hoses off the nozzles and no liquid comes out, so I imagine the clog must be lower, probably on that screen. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to disassemble the wheel well to get to the tank.
