Hello everybody! I have been sharing a lot of recipes in my channel but this one is extra special because this is the first out of the many dishes that I will be doing for my #MakeItMerryWithMarjorie series.
Today’s dish is RUSSIAN POTATO SALAD, a recipe that is delicious and very easy to make - perfect for Noche Buena! Happy cooking and don't forget to tag me on your dishes on Instagram!
Ingredients:
2 kilos of potatoes, boiled and cubed
4 pcs of sugar beets, boiled and cubed
2 chicken breast, boiled and shredded
1 small tub of mayonnaise
half a bottle of salad and sandwich spread (if none use pickle relish)
1 chopped white onion
salt and pepper to taste

My Dad ,who passed away several years ago and I must say a very good cook , also uses sugar beets in his potato salad. He doesn't only prepare it during Christmas but every time he cooks steak or fried chicken..it serves as a side dish. If sugar beets is not available in the market he uses celery which is also yummy and adds crunch..thanks for sharing your "secret ingredient"!!

I remember my lola would cook beef morcon (8 hours simmering in low fire) every Christmas eve, then we’ll freeze a portion for New Year and its much delicious after reheating. That’s the best morcon ever.

thank you for sharing your version. My mom makes her potato salad with chicken and beets too. You can add cheddar cheese or any processed cheese (cubed) too for added taste! super yummy!

Looks really yummy, definitely will be making it. I will be using my homegrown beetroot( the red vegetable that you used). In UK we don’t eat sugar beet, it’s used in making sugar. Sugar beet is colour white.

That (Russian Potato Salad) is a family favorite. 😊 Our version tho is that we don't mix much, like super halo the sugar beets and add it lang tlga at the end and super konti na halo lang pra natural lang un stain nun beets.. Maybe we don't fancy lang super pink food. 😅 That's just for my fam. 😁 Like Ms. Marj's disclaimer nmn, kanya-kanya ng version yan. 😊 Still our fave tho. ❤️ Celery and carrots for additional color and flavor. 😊

That's how we also make our Russian Potato Salad but we add chopped apples and a little celery. We pair it with Chicken Galantina, French Bread or Ensaimada and Hot Chocolate.
