What a thrill after a lifetime of loving Tommy Makem and the Clancy's to hear a song I've never heard before. Liam's beautiful voice makes me cry for the good old days when they were with us and I could go to their concerts and meet them at fairs. God, I was so lucky to "know" them in their time as entertainers. No one can beat them for beauty and historical context. Thank you for posting this wonderful piece!

Thanks for this!! Love the chance to hear their more obscure cuts. This was a B-Side from early 80’s, right? Thanks very Much for this, and any others you may have. What a treat.

Was this song included on an ep or singles vinyl disc? As far as I know, it never showed up on any of their albums (not U.S. releases, anyway)? I'm making a Spotify playlist of all the songs Liam sang in Irish; and I can't find this gem on Spotify to save my life, alas...

Listening to this, it's hard to believe Liam didn't speak Irish. He learned all the Irish language songs phonetically.

It is so hard to do that as well as he did. I have tried to do it with Scots Gaelic with varying results !!!

He had school Irish to a high level, he could read Irish poetry, prose and songs. He just didn’t have conversational Irish.

It was a B side to a single, I think it was All God’s Creatures
