The guest room/ utility is great but the living room looks a single lady who wears fancy hi heels and never sits down. A big wrap around sectional with comfy cushions and a lamp to read by would do a family much better for watching sports.

I love Trish, but there´s something about the TV and the sofa position that´s gonna make people watch tv sideways and that´s not comfortable. You could try to find smaller stools and then put a not-so-deep sofa in front of the tv and then 2 sets of armchairs... otherwise, how are you gonna sit 7 people there? same with the dining table... that´s all I can think of... =)

As a mom of a blended family with 5 kids-now grown-I would’ve loved to see the kids’ bedrooms. We had three boys (two of whom were mine) and two daughters (not mine, but the eldest of all five). Now that would be a serious design challenge. We had three bedrooms for the children but ended up with all three sons together and the fighting was endless. It was never really resolved. If you both have children, don’t expect it to be the Brady Bunch.

The thing is, I cannot find my comment nor can I find the video. There is a video in the playlist (video 100) that is now a private video and I am wondering if that is the video that I am looking for. Looks like this home just can’t accommodate this family. With the varying styles of the owners and obvious need for more livable space because of all the kids... they truly should consider buying a new house. Design isn’t what they need, space is!
@willow97193 жыл бұрын
I agree but also it felt like the designer tried too hard to please and have both of their styles so much that now the styles and home items are competing w each other for space and aesthetic, and its not harmonious. That probably resulted in overlooking the functionality and logical placement of furnitures. I think the space has enough capability to accommodate the family if done right.

Love the daybed! Love the everything room even though it's a bit stuffed and the laundry hanging should be hidden. That said, as a whole, it's an amazing example of poor execution and un-thoughtful design. Horribly uncomfortable chairs around that table where guests should be able to spend some time. Zero functionality around the big black tv floating off into space on that wall. Looks like the place was designed to make everyone want to go somewhere else. If I suggested a floor plan like that my clients would want their money back.
@Citruscider343 жыл бұрын
Another case of homeowner getting scammed and overpaying designers. How is this even functional? You cook a meal for a family of 7, and you need to go a long way, walk on a white rug, and put the dishes on the dining table. Either the homeowners were stupid agreeing to this, or the designer forced them with this idea. The space feels very cluttered even though the house is staged.
@ManUntdForever3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. While these designs are nice, how on earth are they functional? Livable? If this pandemic has taught us anything, it's that houses are for living and they need to _work_ for everyone in the family. A house like this gives me complete anxiety. I can't imagine living in a space like this with 6 other people while working from home.

Honestly? The finals result is too loud. Too many mismatching color tones and styles. I’ve seen industrial chairs mixed with country cabinet modern daybed rustic green chair boho rugs moroccan mirror and fur on stool rug pillows. In my opinion it’s too much. Especially upstairs something went wrong. The layout is not really the best. I would have put a built in cabinet with a built in bench on the wall with the window, two armchairs facing the fireplace a coffee table, a little pouf to add extra sitting, a plant on the left side of the fireplace and a built in desk on the right one without that chandelier and that giant wardrobe in the middle of the room.
