Apparently, Mod Podge has a cure time of FOUR WEEKS. Maker's Magic advertises a cure time of 48 HOURS. Another point scored for Maker's Magic. Plus, hey, people can pronounce Maker's Magic, which they have a hard time saying "MOD Podge" (giggle)

I have both the glossy and mat Mod Podge. Haven't ever used the mat. That being said, I'm currently working on a project where I will finally use the mat, lol!

Thank you! Yeah, from what I understand, it's hard to make a matte non-streaking formula due to the raw materials that are available.

No, I haven't tried that. I've used this medium since this video (on acetate), and the bubbles are not common nor a big problem. I see they have matte out now.

The acetate looks great and you are right matte would have been a better choice for my crafting.

Now that I’m watching the video, I absolutely love the usage on acetate! Otherwise it’s going to be pretty useless to me, also as a paper crafter. I think I better business decision would’ve been to come out with a matte finish first.

I think gloss could work really well if you were doing something that had glitter and you wanted to stop the glitter rubbing off while maintaining the shine and sparkle. I know people use it for diamond paintings and for puzzles.

I woldn't seal a diamond painting, but that's just me. Good point about the glitter (as a glue for glitter). I wouldn't seal glittter, though. Even glossy would dull that sparkle.

Question Lolly- on the Maker's magic, are you supposed to you less. I liked the outcome and watching you - it seemed to be a nice product to work with. I don't think I would buy it 1. Gloss finish- so not a fan. 2. The price. That said, if it were matte finish and if you're supposed to use less- I could justify the cost. Thanks for the review!

I used just enough to cover the area I needed, but I can't tell that you need to use less than Mod Podge.

Thanks it smelling is a no go for me and you just saved me lots of money. The E6000 glue that smells is a no go for me. It’s 2024 and they should not be making products that smell.also them coming out with glossy means this company really does NOT know their customer base is a red flag.

I guess it depends on what other decoupage artists are doing. I can see using glossy on a guitar, for instance. I do like the acetate application for this glue. The price point is still tough.

I don't agree with your critique, at all. You entered into it critical of the new product and you were mak8ng a face about the smell before you even finished unscrewing the lid! You were prejudicial, at best. At worst, you started being hypercritical before you were halfway through the comparison test. But you are a crafter. Now I know not to pay attention to your reviews!

I had no preconceived notions about this, so I was not prejudicial. All my reviews discuss the positives and negatives of a product I'm reviewing. Just because you didn't like the negatives that I mentioned does not mean that they are incorrect. I was "making a face about the smell" before I unfinished unscrewing the lid? Were you in my craft room? The lid was unscrewed without my face on camera; only my hands were visible. Not sure how you came to that conclusion, since you do not see my face. Yes, I'm a crafter; that's the whole point here: how would MY viewers use this product? You're right about not watching my reviews. If you are offended when ALL the aspects of a product are mentioned, then by all means, move along.
