Nice job polluting the planet. Concrete at least isn't toxic.
@MakerGrayКүн бұрын
Guessing you didn't know that the cement industry is the third largest source of industrial air pollution. It's worth a google search.
@hoduljaКүн бұрын
@MakerGray that's true. But the production of that foam isn't clean either, though I have no data for that, just suspicion. Had that been on the same scale, I wonder which is more polluting.
@MakerGray23 сағат бұрын
@@hodulja Its a good question. I wonder as well

The amount of inattentiveness required for this is astonishing.

If you are using this stuff woth small things that is t going to take on a lot of weight, this is fine, but never use this for porches or other things. It will not hold. Ever. This are also fairly small posts but this would never work on the bigger ones
@iceyiceКүн бұрын
I am glad you made a post to explain things...but stuff like this should probably be explained in a videos because there are going to be some idiots that see this and think it is OK for everything and it is going to get people hurt

Got this shit on my face once when I tried my luck at line work( I only ran the auger and prepped poles, no bucket work). Still have a barely visible scar where it pulled my skin off with it.

Brilliant looking fence, but if you wish this investment to last as long as possible, I'd really recommend finishing the other side too, so the elements don't rot away your investment too quickly! Just saying, and it looks even more professional that way!

Bought the plans and am building right now! What length 18 gauge Brad nails for the trim? 2” or 1 1/2? Thank you
@MakerGray3 күн бұрын
Great!! I would think 1 1/2 would be good. If you go that route, I'd add a dab of exterior glue behind the trim. But! After having ours for a couple of years now, I I've recently decided that I would instead use exterior rated trim head screws for the trim. My brad nails haven't been as strong as I'd prefer. Enjoy the build!!

You’re supposed to pour it directly on the post to “wet” it or the foam will expand away from the post, like you’ve just seen.

Ngl I watched my brother use this against me and my dad's word for his saw mill shop on live edge locust posts. 16 inch minimum on the post and it's been 4 years. Granted holes where probably 40 42 inches those posts are still holding tight after a few micro bursts even here in missouri
@gregwilliams6405 күн бұрын
Never plant any wood into the ground. Whether using foam or cement. The wood will rot. Especially without a run off for water. Dig your holes. Poor in concrete footers and place wood on top with metal footers bolted into the concrete.
