Bourbon Junkies did a comparison of MM46 to The Heart Release and they were having a hard time understanding the difference between the two. It sounds like just marketing

@@993C2S yeah I was wondering how bourbon bills palate would react to the similarly of them. As far as I can tell it's seared vs toasted staves between the 2. I wish mm would do 12 years in a regular rickhouse and another set of 12 years with no rotation. Then release all 3 (cellar, rotated, non rotation) kinda like hardin's creek Jim beam. Now that a good Le release idea imo to have 3 different expressions to try.

Unfortunately didn’t have any MM46 CS left to compare but from what I hear the heart release is older. The heart release is not traditional makers vibes like the MM46 CS though I think it’s a welcome change

Hey Bourbon Bill, just cracked the Maker’s Mark Heart Release I picked up in CT yesterday. Once again, you are spot on with your review! I agree completely that this whiskey lines up quite well with Weller Antique 107. I just did a blind and i was hard pressed to tell the difference between the two. Your pallet and my pallet Definitely see eye-to-eye, my man!!

All of these new bourbons aren’t worth much, they just get over hyped by dumb asses on KZbin. Same thing that happened with Jim beam 7 year, it is absolute garbage and people on KZbin were raving how it was the best thing they have had. I think a lot of these KZbinrs are getting paid under the table by big companies to promote

Nice review BB. I was able to find the MM Heart Release readily available by me for about 3 weeks at MSRP. I like it, but not as good as Cellar Aged for me. 🥃

It surprisingly hasn’t hit Pa yet but yeah I could see how some prefer cellar aged but as much as I wanted to like cellar aged this is the 2nd sample I’ve had and it just continues to not shine through but you know me I need oak and it’s just missing it

Have heard *very* mixed reviews on The Heart Release. One middle-of-the-road review said that the average Private Selection store pick is better. I wonder if there's a lot of batch variation.

Yeah I don’t know this was one sample but the distillery exclusive was similar flavor to the heart release I think it comes down to do you like the makers normal flavor profile or something different I like both just think it’s refreshing for them to change it up

Didn't buy the cellar aged, it started off at 150 dollhairs then Ohiolq pushed it up to 200 dollhairs. Now listed at 175. Nope I'm out. But this week makers released to Ohio 3 exclusives. I picked up home sweet Ohio at 110 proof, up to 8yrs old. Have yet to try but tasting notes apple pie, cocoa, Carmel with a bit of orange zest. 75 dollhairs.
