I love VESC about time someone dethrones ASI. Open source for the win

Another very well produced and informative review. I burned up a Maker-x HI200 a few years ago but it looks like they've raised their game. Not a fan of this cabling package either as you point out.

Could you please do a review of the phaserunner?

Maybe...this controller has never been requested before and it's an ASI product so not exactly high on the list if things to take apart for people. I did the BAC8000 and BAC4000 because they do see a lot of use.

looking to change the controllers in my scooter, i have the laotie ti30 with 2800 watt 11'' hub motors the old controllers are 45amp each square wave i believe. What setup would you recommend? two of these g300 would be expensive! tried flipsky low end 75100 but had very poor results.

Spintend is a little better than Flipsky.

It's one of them. Trampa 100250 is a good option. Tronic X12 is as well.

Does flipsky works with FOC? In most shop, they tell you to set phase filtering to ''false''...
@de-bodgery Жыл бұрын
Flipsky runs VESC. It is FOC. They tell you to set phase filtering to false since Flipsky cheaps out and doesn't have phase amps on board their controllers...so for them specifically, you have to turn this feature off in VESCtool.

What do you think is a better controller for the price. G300 for $345, or Flipsky 75200 Pro V2.0 for $165?
@de-bodgery7 ай бұрын
You get what you pay for. The G300 is better.

From watching your vids it seems like every company leaves that gap from the mosfet trace/copper to the B- copper bus. Is it possible this just isnt a big deal? Do you think connecting them would make a substantial difference in this controller or just a couple % less heat?
@de-bodgery Жыл бұрын
This is degrees of improvement. There is always more things that can be improved in every design. This isn't even the original G300 power stage...it's the 3rd revision and had a ton of improvements in it that are all new. Not everyone leaves gaps. Different engineers focus on different details. It's not always easy to see everything to improve or optimize. Sometimes you have no choice other than make compromises that are suboptimal.

VESC which runs the full FOC suite can run sensorless, halls or sin/cos.

TVS is completely useless in this situation I like packing idea tho
@de-bodgery Жыл бұрын
Why did they put that pile of TVS on the power stage? They have to be there to pull down any voltage spikes in the power stage. They can't possibly be useless. I seriously doubt MakerX put all those TVS on there for reason.
@vasilisk8944 Жыл бұрын
@@de-bodgery for rated amps all these tvs have no much effect, capacitors have more effect than any tvs, because di/dt in these designs are super huge (if drivers are good enough) and full bridge clamps voltage between better than anything else, avalanche capacity for this array of mosfets will be quite higher than some poor tvs diodes on the corner (current first start flowing through them too, by changing current path, this is not fast either)
@vasilisk8944 Жыл бұрын
@@de-bodgery not to mention voltage range in which tvs starts to work, it is so big that mosfets will be in avalanche faster than tvs will realize that it needs to do some job
