I was watching the Steve Ramsey 2024 shop tour video with my wife the other day and at the end she’s like “that was probably like $20,000 worth of tools.” And I laughed and told her I know many other wood working KZbinrs with actual $20,000+ shops. Now I can show her this video later tonight.

I’ve always loved the creative flair and personality you’ve put into your shop space over the years. I especially dig the vibe of the warm wood paneling and the curtains. Walking through your shop was like some sort of fantasy...but I fell outta my chair laughing as you ran the extreme angle cut at the end using a Harbor Freight clamp to hold the wood 🤣🤣🤣 You also made a very important point during the miter saw segment. Use what you have. Don't be held back while thinking you can't do that because you don't have a SawStop or a stack of Festool sustainers. Most of the tools I use are thirty+ years old, outside of my routers which I upgraded several years ago to take advantage of soft start and variable speed...both highly important for safety and ease of use. Beautiful shop...beautiful. It is truly a creating space. I imagine 90% of your viewers are drooling. Thanks for the tour, and thanks for all your content!

As always, I love to see your shop expanding and the crazy projects keeping coming out. I remember you saying a few years back in one of your shop tours that the creative juices weren't flowing as much and that you were potentially beginning to burn out, and that got me a little worried. To add to the KZbinrs that give great tips, Colin Knecht at Wood Work Web has been giving good ones, both his own and those provided by viewers, for years, and have been great time savers! Thanks, David! Keep 'em coming!

Love to see a Table Saw Jig video. I recently added the Rip Flip to my Saw Stop. Using for dados and moving the fence just that little bit instead of tapping it, added magnets to connect them for even more ease of use. Saved my day on that sanding drum in the freezer, have had that happen a time or two and I end up using a razor to cut them off which isn't the safest.

Now, THAT’S one hell of a creative arts studio (shop)! #goals I cant even begin to choose my favorite part of this video. It’s all great! The freezer tip reminds me of a mechanic I used to work with. He was always bringing parts into the office kitchen to put into either the freezer or the oven. LOL. Also, I love the record player stand! My 21 year old son has always been all about music his entire life, and he’s managed to accumulate quite an impressive collection of vinyl. He would love to have something nice like that for his records & player. You’re literally forcing me to learn woodworking! 😂😂😂😂

Thank you for making these videos, Your channel is one I look forward to new videos all the time. I also like how you still show the work through your sponsor times. I bought your plans for the outfeed table. We didn't have the money for nicer plywood, so went with what we could. I just got it fully put together so far so good! We have a shop to store our boat and had a part of the shop that was not being used well. We are turning that into a little wood shop. Its 12' x 20' but I have another 10' I may use as well that could make is 12' x 30'. I Can't wait to see your budget shop to hopefully get some idea from that. I really like the sliding back wall. That would be a great way to keep the dust contained to the woodshop side. Please keep the videos coming! Have a great 2024!

I called myself “the barefoot woodworker” inspired by your “drunken woodworker” I want you to know one of my first real projects was making bentwood lamination rings because of your video where you made wedding/anniversary rings for your wife. You’ve been in my life almost as long as my wife! (She got a gold and diamond wedding ring but she still wears my wooden rings sometimes) Great to see your channel evolve over the yyears. You are no longer drunken and I no longer work barefoot (dropped a chisel… owie) I. Moved to a new house 2 years ago with no room for a shop but I’m currently building a 20x30 garage that will be my shop and I look forward to making sawdust again. Thanks for all you do. Cheers.

Hi David. The only jointer tip I know is the Inside/Outside tip. If you're gluing up a panel, label the upward face of each board "1, 2, 3..." and so on. Joint the odd numbered boards with the number facing inside (toward the fence) and joint the even numbered boards facing outside (away from the fence). This will ensure that any minor deviations from square on the fence will be mirrored board to board, and regardless of the deviation from 90 degrees, the faces will meet up perfectly.

What a great video. And the tips were awesome. Love the planer sled with sandpaper and then showing us dual use for it. I use my table saw to joint wood but not how you do it. I took a piece of 3/4” plywood and ran it through table saw about 2/3rds of length taking only the blade with off. Then I flipped it over putting board to blade with uncut side on backside of blade. I then run my wood to joint against the board and it takes of the blade width. If it needs second pass, I run it again. I forget who I saw make this jig because I’m like you, I want to give that woodworker credit and you are so right about Stumpy Nubs and the other guy, they got great tips. Thanks for this video and have you got the parts or new planer from Wen yet

16:31 well the good news about your Festool is that nobody can say that you’re trying to hide you fancy expensive tools while telling viewers to just use pallet wood and tools from estate/tag sales that are equal to spread you have. You’re very up front with your use of a lot of tools for a variety of project types & materials. Nobody should be giving you grief for the miter saw of all things in rough collection. Good video. Thanks 👍
