I couldnt find a small bottle of citrus solvent but then managed to find this organic safe citrus cleaner so I used that instead thinking it would be just as good. After cooling down the melted mixture I noticed a watery substance in the pot. Turns out it was the citrus cleaner which had separated from the now solid wax and linseed oil! luckily it was easy to pour out. After more searching I found a small citrus solvent bottle so will remelt and add that.

Great shop.... you know, you have the money to hire out. Change your budget allotments. For instance, 3 CNC machines? 400 dust collectors? Taking the time to drawer all your tools instead of wall arranging for easy access? You can only use so many machines at once, so while you are planning on doing automotive, that is more tools, space, time, and tons of money. Use what you have, build your team, and focus on an area of design. Once you have your necessary money and have an efficient team, you will be freer to expand then into your other goals.

The only WEN tool I have is my planer. Its been great for me as a novice wood worker. Honestly you really dont use them that often so for the price and the half a dozen times I have used it I am happy for the money I paid.

"Knock offs" is just a way of designing for a specific market. Most patents in the USA are knock offs of inventions made by others anyway - but made into patents in the USA. People buy from china because they have higher skills - better sense of quality for every price level. The advantage that producing near the market could give is credibility, climate impact, delivery time and after market service. But even considering those aspects I would buy from China today. Why? Because they have the vision to serve the customers demands rather than trying to create false demands through advertising like in your video.

I have a 2-car tandem garage which is a great space for woodworking, but I also park two cars in it and, store everything one accumulates over a lifetime, including tons of my wife’s Christmas decorations and art supplies. Given this, it’s always a challenge to find space, move my tools out from where they’re stored and putting them back at the end of each day so I can clean up the garage and move the cars in. Everything I build takes longer and it’s frustrating always having to move something around. I have a full workshop with a cabinet saw, 14” bandsaw, planer, jointer, router table, a few bench sanders, miter station and, several 4x8 cabinets full of just about everything you’ll ever need in a wood shop, including about 50 different clamps, so I don’t go without and I make it work. I use flip carts and my larger machines are all on mobile stands. However, I just got a cnc and had to remove the shelves from my assembly table to get it to fit in my shop, and I’m finally in a place where nothing more will fit, but plan to get a laser engraver in the near future at which time I’ll have to build a platform with a winch so I can either raise it or the cnc up to the only available space I have left on the ceiling. My point of this is that no matter what space you have, you can make it work. I saw a guy that put a miter saw and contractor table saw in a bedroom in his apartment, along with some tools, shop vac and small assembly table! He can only work during the day when his neighbors are at work, but he made it work. Another guy has a small storage shed next to his carport and pulls his tools out onto his carport whenever he wants to build something. His miter saw, table saw and assembly table are mounted on carts with wheels and he rolls them in and out of his storage shed when he builds something. I used a drill, circular saw and jigsaw for years, so you don’t need a bunch of fancy tools to enjoy woodworking!

I've bought a number of things on Temu and they work and that's fine for light duty and occasional tasks. But if it has to work and work and work, I spend the bucks. When I bought a couple of battery impact drivers that, between them, had to drive most of a million #10x3'' deck screws, I did not get the Harbor Freight tools, they were Makita. And after that job, they're still in use now.

I cannot believe you downgraded the T square 'because it's metric only'! Join the rest of the world America! Is TEMU ripping off or the 'legitimate' manufacturers? $169 vs $6.99 for a coping saw? who's doing the ripping off here? Just a heads up, also, America has been ripping off/stealing designs for years and getting away with it. What go's around comes around.

Lipstick on a pig. No contractor's saw will ever be a cabinet saw. The tolerances it is manufactured at aren't there because they are meant for rough carpentry. Wen makes absolutely dogshit products. Just save up and get a Sawstop and be done with it.

Except I've been making fine woodworking projects with it for weeks. Yeah, doesn't compare to my Sawstop but I can make it do whatever I want it to. It's all about your attitude and approach. 🙂

China has invented a new kind of product, designed not necessarily to work, but only to sell. It looks like the real thing in the photo on Amazon. Maybe it'll work when you take it out of the box, or maybe it won't. And maybe it'll work a week later, but maybe it won't.

Arbortech 160 $ for a disc grinder tool! THAT is a rip-off! I used the 10 $ tool with "welded" carbide tips. Actually, they are brazzed on and WILL not come off as long as used as intended and you don't grind nails and other metal with it. "Only metric..". Well, as a matter of fact, the whole civilized world uses metric. Even the UK and Canada agreed to the much easier metric (imperials are also used).

If your table saw has T tracs for the miter you can buy them build some from hardwood or even steel. But putting them on the sled will stop that tipping. I would make some 40 in long with a folding leg and when you have to break down sheet of plywood

I love this build. I am in a one car garage and have zero room for much so I have a couple of Shopsmiths and they do me fine. But I intend to make a n table for it and use the same rails. One thing you should have did different is putting the linear rails on the bottom side of the sliding table and the blocks down on the base you have built it would keep the meliemene or ply wood from ever saging. saved you the aluminum beam and some steel angle. I am going to be doing mine the same way except it also make it easier on me to break down when not in use as its not a odd bulky size. But I think you really built something cool and useful that should last you years. You got a like and sub from me over it.

I must confess. I roedered from Temu once when it first launched about two years ago.... I ordered a bunch of fashion earrings....I literally only spent $16.00 and about 5 pairs came in broken. Threw them away and used the other ones for gift bags for Dreaming of Haute 2023. I kept one pair. They lasted 4 months.... The pair I kept only came out to a cost of $3.00 not bad at all since I knew they were temporary . Theres my retail confession. Judge away world. I know of alot of people whom are addicted to to Temu and Shein...

Hey thanks for this. I have been using the Sam Maloof finish for more than 50 years, and yes, leaving the rags around almost burned down our shop South of Market in SF. They do spontaneously ignite. Lately I have been trying Watco to start out, then Watco or turpentine depending, mixed with boiled linseed oil and a little bit of oil based poly. My friend likes to call it my passive/aggressive finish (put it on, take it off). He didn't really get the keep the finish at surface level idea at all. I will build this up with 4 or 5 layers over as many days. I have very little experience with wax as part of the overall finish. Greatly appreciate the in depth demonstration. I will use your advise.

two of the main problems with the small saws are 1: short lead before the blade. Not a lot space to align tight against the fence. 2: cheap short fences. Most after market fences cost as much as the jobsite saw, but are way too big. Something stronger, more accurate, taller, and with a longer lead needed. If I built a support table for the saw, I would make sure there are at least 12" before the blade supported by the fence.
