Makesy fragrance results | & my thoughts on this company

I have so much respect for you making this video. I agree 100%. They changed their name to Maksy to me, that is for the Makers. Most Makers are looking to make money off of the items we make. Their prices are way too high. I do order my Woden wicks from them. I ordered a melter off of their site because it was 50% off and I took advantage of the .99 f.o.sale on the small bottles. I can’t justify paying full price on their oils or vessels. I love candle science and several of the others. If it wasn’t for candle science, I wouldn’t have started my candle journey. I’m great full for candle science!

I agree with everything that you said about this brand…100%! I’ll admit, their marketing got me! I spent a lot of money on FO that did not perform. I get amazing results with candle science and the flaming candle. I was very disappointed because I wanted to love their oils!

So happy I found your channel! I love your vibe and this video. I totally agree. I only purchase from them during a sale and it’s 98% personal for me to make shampoo, soap, home candles, etc but it’s just no way I could justify putting this in my line up and even think of making a profit. More like a huge loss. I feel like they’ll realize that they need to come down on prices. It truly is a hit or miss tho. Some blow you away and some don’t. I only have 2 that are under $50 for a 16oz that are worth it for me so we’ll see how they perform in wax. I also really dislike the .33ml option because I can’t make anything accurate with that.

Agree 1000%. I cannot justify their prices. I loved many of their oils and they’re the company I started out with. But once I branched out I learned there are other luxe oils that are even better and with much better price points. I will say when they have a sale and you can use your points you can get decent discounts but still not worth it to me.

I’m starting to move away from Maksey’s. Thank goodness I only bought sample sizes. They are now offering lower priced oils and some are nice. I will continue to buy a few oils. However, I’m branching out. I bought oils from Scent Memory, Stock Fragrance, Wellington Fragrance and they all have beautiful luxe oils. Stock Fragrance is expensive, but it’s worth it.

Yea Makesy is unnecessarily expensive and their shipping time is annoyingly long. But their stuff is cute. Maybe just buy vessels from them and wooden wicks

I completely agree with you. As a newbie I figured out pretty quickly that I would need to find a new supplier to replace Makesy. Their prices are double what they should be, they're frequently out of stock and the customer service isn't that great. Luckily I have been able to find a new supplier for the virgin coconut soy wax I was buying from Makesy and even some of the fragrance oils as well. My favorite fragrance oils from Makesy are cashmere vanilla, pink raspberries and prosecco, bergamot and ambergris, dark rose and labdanum.

I love harvested sumac! The Calabrian lemon is a thrower! I love the dark rose out of the bottle, but I feel like I lost the top notes/sweetness when I made a candle. I did add it at 200, I need to try adding it at 180-190. Also, Maple Street Candle has those same scents at a lot lower price!

Thank you for your honest review. I hadn't ordered from them yet and didn't realize they took some jabs at CS and Brambleberry. It's not a good look to look down your nose at a competitor like that. There is enough room for everyone in the market, companies who don't realize that will stagnate and turn off potential customers. I will spend my money with companies who focus on their customers and keep it positive, not with companies who have a bad attitude!

Just finished watching this video & I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in my thoughts about Makesy & their fragrance oils. I took advantage of their recent .99 sale on the sample bottles. So that I could decide which ones I'd like to possibly order in a 16oz bottle. I think I ordered about 60 different scents but about 100 bottles, since the limit was 3 on each scent. So some I order 1, 2 or 3, depending on the notes. Well like you out of all of them there are only about 10 I considered ordering a 16oz bottle & Dark Rose & Labdanum was one I ABSOLUTELY LOVE & strongly considered. There were a few less expensive ones I put in my cart during the 22% off sale, but later removed. I feel like I can probably find similar scents through other suppliers, at a more reasonable price point.

I totally 100% agree with you. Their aesthetics pulled me in hook & sinker. My opinion but most of their fragrance oils are no big woop. I mainly use them for their wooden wicks and a hand full of their fragrances. Also, this company takes forever to deliver. I live in Hollywood, CA & this company is located in Irvine, CA 🤔 That being said, I'm sure they are trying their best to keep up with other luxury candle companies and the demands of their large customer base. I wish them all the best✌️😎👍

Hi Allen. I appreciate your honesty. I actually just watched the (WWC) video that you mentioned. You’re correct, showing the fragrances from other companies was very small of them. I’ve never tried anything from BB but I absolutely love CS. Do you think that using a tart wax would make a difference with the HT of some of the lighter Makesy scents? BTW, didn’t you test a tart wax? Did I miss the outcome of that? Anyway, I purchased a bunch of sample scents from Makesy during their sample sale. I’m also finally gonna test C55. I can’t wait to see if it’s as good as the makers that love it say it is. Be well.

I also mainly use Macy's hemp wax which I absolutely love! Haven't found any other waxes from any other companies that contain hemp and are as flawless as the candles I'm making with the hemp wax

Right out of the gate, thank you for talking to us honestly about this company. I hate myself for buying anything from Makesy, but I do. I agree with everything you said. I want to thank you as well for naming some FO’s I haven’t tried. You seem to have the knowledge and experience to share your candid thoughts with everything Makesy. I purchase FO’s from several suppliers based on their quality. I’ve found lovely fragrances from Bramble Berry, Paris, Sweet Cakes, some of the Flaming Candle, Millcreek, Wholesale Supply and Oregon Trail..I know there are 2 or 3 more suppliers I’ve purchased from. If a fragrance impresses me with its’ performance in a candle and gives me a very good HT I’ll pay the price. Shipping is killing me right now and equals the price of the FO! I know there are many other chandlers who feel the same way, so you are definitely not alone! I’m sure you’ve noticed this but there are many FO’s that smell better in a melt than lighting a wick? In a melt, it’s just pure fragrance. I test fragrances with a little wax to determine if I’m even going to like them. Then others make you swoon and I just keep smelling over and over, lol! I give a free wax melt and feel it’s very good for business! Makesy sends your purchase and that’s it and I abhor wasting my money on multiple samples and only liking a few? I purchased one of Makesy’s sample kits and only liked 2 out of the whole set! I will most assuredly purchase the fragrances you loved, so thank you for sharing! the rose and labdanum fragrance oil I bought at the beginning of my candle making career. It smells heavenly, but I didn't get a good HT in any wax I've used. Not worth the price. That was the last of my using them on any of my candle line.

I have been debating whether I would buy a few samples from them but everything is expensive on the site. So I kinda just passed for now. BB is my favorite but I wait to do big orders because they have gotten expensive over the past year. So I will have to definitely catch a sale to try Makesy. You have me soooo curious to try those scents though lol. I love that I can also use your fabulous blend to create so melts! I’m very new to candle making and recently brought a few brands of soy waxes and Parasoy blends but nothing and I mean nothing stands up to the recipe I learned from you. Tested BB, Natures Garden, Flaming Candle and 16/17 FO in all three waxes. The HT and CT is absolutely best in crème blend! I can’t wait to try it in a few days. Crafting when school is out lol. I use a few FO's from them that I haven't found anything else comparable to yet. I'm lucky the ones that I have picked are excellent throwers for CT&HT. I will only buy on sale, and I have tons of sample of FO's that I was looking forward to loving, however, due to the poor throws, I cannot justify the price points. My favorites are Marigold and Cedarwood and strawberry macaron & vanilla whip - both are complex, smooth and just beautiful to light up. If anyone out there has a good Marigold FO suggestion please send it my way! While I love the Makesy interpretation, I'd love to sample others!

One major way to get a huge discount at Makesy is using their points from orders because I had thousands of points which I forgot about and I just cashed in a very small amount of them and got $50 off my last order!

Now I'm figuring out their lack of customer service. I've reached out politely to get records of my order number but haven't heard a peep.
