1. Are you ever able to use pen liquid liners on clients? They have the little brush too so probably not huh.. 2.Do you think it's a must to show up to jobs with a decent amount of makeup on? I do, but I've heard some artist say they show up with no makeup on..?

1. Some do...better not to. Find a good gel liner, or a liquid liner (tube with a brush in the cap type) that you can swipe onto a palette or spatula and then use a dedicated brush for it, that can be sanitized. You can also buy pen liners on sale and work that into your price--leaving it with the client when finished. (Label a baggie, and keep it separate from your kit.) 2. You should show up for a job dressed/makeup appropriate for the situation. If doing a bridal job, remember that there will likely be pictures taken of you, so look nice, but not too flashy (IMHO). If your doing an editorial job at the beach, or outside, dress/makeup for the weather. I always suggest to dress modestly as not everyone wants to stare down your cleavage or see too much skin, and you want to be remembered for your professionalism.

When applying a lipgloss or concealer which comes with one of the wands you dip into the product, do you use disposable wands or do you get the product out of the tube somehow?x

Great tips Kat!!! I couldn't agree more about the personal hygiene part, nothing annoys me more than people who don't use deodorant. Unless you have some sort of medical condition, there's just no excuse, it's the most awful smell ever!!!!!

Thanks Jenny!! I know. I just don't get it! The breath thing is the worst in my industry. I've had models tell me their makeup artist has been eating a bag of crisps and then gone to touch up their makeup. EW!! Nobody wants your cheese and onion fingers on their face 😂

Can I just add, a nail brush should be used when you wash your hands before and after working on others?

Most makeup artists don't have direct access to a sink when working e.g. at someone's house, in a bridal suite at a hotel where bridesmaids may be occupying the bathroom, etc. - alcohol hand sanitiser is the best option as no water necessary, it's instant and it will kill any germs on your hands and nails. :) but yes, love a nail brush and keeping your nails clean and shaped, etc. is essential as well! Great tip

True, sinks aren't always available. I've been on many locations with no water, but I use the brush before leaving the house-- and keep a fresh one on hand for using with sanitizer, even though my nails are short.

Would you recommend using beauty blenders? How would you disinfect between clients?

I use them but it's personal preference. I use antibacterial dish soap (Fairy Liquid) to clean them just to make sure! And replace them often (more often than you'd replace one for personal use) x

I don't use liquid eyeliner on clients for this reason! I use gel so I can put it on a palette/back of my hand xx

I do. Some people are against it though! I think as long as you’re throughly disinfecting between every use and replacing regularly, they’re okay!
