I wish the younger me knew all of the damage that I was causing to my skin by laying out as a teen with baby oil. Luckily, by my 20s, I gave up sun worshipping, but damage was done. I just had a VI Peel the other day, to help lighten, if not get rid of the awful sun spots. Incredible eye look Shelly. The foundation really has a long wear time on you. I'm glad you didn't find it to be drying, because a few people have found it to be. Of course, Ziva has to make a guest appearance! Enjoy your weekend, Shelly. Stay warm. ❤💖💖

Definitely a "Yes" on the side by side comparison. I'm not usually a fan of Revlon foundations as they tend to run very cool under toned and I'm neutral leaning warm/peach. I bought the Illuminance a couple of weeks ago and so far really liking it. It's pretty on the skin and very comfortable to wear. I think the shade you have here looks like a great match and appeared very smooth on your skin. 👍

Yes, loving the shade on you..a slightly deeper shade honestly looks very good, actually more flattering, gives more coverage on pigmentation and doesn't accentuate dry patches as much👍btw, those brows girl! Snatched!😁

Hi Shelley I've heard some say it has visible shimmer in daylight, but on the check in I couldn't detect any on screen. I had thought it would be more hydrating, but decent wear is important too. Best wishes.

I’m just like you I’m neutral but I can go cool more than I can go warm .. yellow really shows on my face bc my chest stays so red! In the summer my ideal color tho is neutral w subtle golden undertones! Also I got the standsout sponge and it’s worth every penny!!!!! It’s amazing! I love it!!!!

OK I just wrote a sourdough comment and I don't know if it posted - I don't see it but if I refresh and lose your comment I might never see it again so I'm going to retype in case it didn't post! So if it posts twice, you know why! lol - I need to make more sourdough!! I keep wanting to do it and I keep getting up too late or forgetting to feed the starter right when I wake up, and it's an all-day thing. I do the scrapings method with my starter so I don't have to feed it every day - where I keep scrapings of the starter in a jar in the fridge. Then pull it out and feed it to wake it up when it's baking day. But that takes several hours, and then the actual kneading process takes half a day, so I need a whole day to prep it, then it sits overnight and I bake it the next day. It has been too many months since I woke my starter up! I need to get on that!!

Hi Shelly, that window is nice but didn’t the store have a tester bottle out? Yes lol, Sephora still does the color IQ and it matched me with 5N 😊 I’m gonna have to try this with a sponge, with a brush my skin looks textured. And he recommends a brush since he sells 1 with it. So we are shade match twins! 😃

I have heard that the Revlon is a good dupe for the Mario, especially for those that don't like the mica/shimmer that is in the Mario. Your reviews are so helpful and useful and you are simply lovely ☺️ I also have dry skin and I'm 31, but I've tried a million foundation and most of them emphasize dryness. It's as if the make-up sits on top and starts to crack and doesn't absorb well. I would love to know what is your favorite foundation or top 5, it could help me a little :)

Are you exfoliating? Dry skin likes to be hydrated and exfoliated before foundation, or it’ll look terrible. On the driest spots (if you have them even after exfoliating), a primer will help a lot.

Thanks, Elle!! JP mentioned 7 skins - it has worked wonders for my dry and dehydrated skin. Basically you take any hydrating toner that doesn't have actives or irritants in it (like the Pixi Milky Mist or my fave is the CosRx Centella alcohol-free toner) - basically just avoid anything that is AHA/BHA/acids and avoid retinols - you just want a hydrating toner without other stuff. Apply 3 shakes or spritzes to your face, tap in, and immediately repeat. Do that as many times as you can until the liquid won't absorb and is dripping off - most people can get to 7 times, but when I'm super dehydrated I can get to 14 or 15 layers! Then apply moisturizer and that's it. I do this at night, and I try to do it at least once a week. For foundations - check my master spreadsheet and search "hydrating" to pull all of the ones that are hydrating - then they're ranked best to worst :) geekoutofwater.com/foundation-fest/

Hi,does your foundation ever looks grainy on your skin?I have dry skin, in the winter even worse and my estee lauder dw can look very grainy.I have rosacea and some days my cheeks and chin gets a very very unnatural red colour 😢so i can t wear a foundation with lighter coverage....Do you wear higher coverage foundation in the winter then your face is more dry ? xx

Hi Susan! I get that sometimes with the more matte finish foundations, so I'm usually wearing the more dewy ones in the winter. My go-to in the winter has been Nars Light Reflecting foundation (and it was my go-to last summer too, so it seems to work well for me year round).

I apply lighter coverage products with fingers but I find that I'm better at getting everything even with a brush when it comes to medium coverage or more. That's just me though - I have nothing against applying with fingertips!

I'll add a spring update vid to my list!! Though I think the most impactful thing is wearing sunscreen every single day. I didn't start doing that until my mid-30s (I'm 48 now) and I still have sun damage from decades ago popping up on the driving side of my face from having a long commute to work for many years and not wearing sunscreen.
