Lol I love when gurus say "I'm so obsessed with this palette" or say "omg I love this palette so much" then they open it and it looks like it's never been used..

That probably has a lot to do with the fact that they have a crap ton of palettes. It's a lot harder to hit pan when you're switching palettes all the time. I don't think that means they don't love all the palettes they say they love. The reality is they only have one face to use their favorite products on, unfortunately.

A tip for traveling with your custom palettes: I get foam sheets in the WalMart paper craft section and cut them to fit on top of the shadows. They're the perfect thickness to protect your shadows but still let the magnetic closure hold securely. The sheets are letter size and come in many colors so they should be pretty easy to locate.

I've noticed this trend with people who do declutters: they like one or two shades from a palette and either keep it around to take up space, or they toss the whole thing and are tormented by the single shadow. Why not just take out the shadows that you were keeping the pallets for and pop those into your Z pallets? You have them! Lol

I did that last month! Went from 25+ palettes to 5 and one of those Mac double sided empty magnetic palettes. It was hard in the beginning though, destroying palettes that have absolutely beautiful packaging. But totally worth it!

I used to think the same thing! I would be cringing through the video like noooo please depot that color!!! But I think it comes down to the fact that Jess and a lot of other youtubers give all their decluttered makeup away to friends family coworkers then donate the rest. So it would really take away from the charitable aspect of these declutters. For the average makeup lover/collector it would be crazy to not save those shades.

lee Molloy I actually use that palette every day. I'm very very pale so I use the nudes to build up a crease. It allows for a very forgiving application especially when I'm in a rush and don't have as much time to blend.

The blue in the semi sweet palette looks great under the eye when using the gold shade in particular. Its a pretty pop of color you should try it out I used to be put off by it until I tried it. It was the reason I wouldn't buy the palette at first as well, but it is honestly one of my favorite shades in the palette

Tori Gross for me, that shade was actually one of the reasons why i bought the semi sweet palette! it looked so pretty on the pan but i was so dissapointed with the pigmentation... the other shades are so beautiful 😭

Anni Ohtonen awww yeah it's not super pigmented but I only use it on my lower lash line as a pop of color and it's pigmented enough for that have you tried it that's way? I'm sorry it disappointed you though!

Yank InTX I have had it a few months and I'm in love. There isn't any fallout for me but there is a lot of kickup. I think they're pretty pigmented with the exception of the purple which is easily buildable in two applications, something I appreciate since it's so easy to mess up purple on he lid.

Yank InTX the pigmentation is up to par, you just need to remember these are soft colors that aren't going to be bright and bold. It's very unique though. I've enjoyed it

I just wonder why keep so much neutral when there are a million neutral palettes out there?! I also don't understand why every palette has to have the colors for a complete look?! I recommend taking out the specific pans you love from palettes you're not sure about and then put them in your z palette! That way you keep the shadows you want but also don't have the bulk of the rest of the palette. Love your channel!

I did some de-cluttered some of my pallets a while back and know how good it feels to do it. I do notice how the Coastal Sense Revealed pallets do look similar to the Urban Decay Naked pallets but get more in those than the Naked ones. I admit I do have the Naked Smoky and the Basics 1 and 2 and might get the others some other time but do enjoy the Revealed ones a lot! I also need to get the Semi-Sweet one at some point since I have the first Chocolate Bar and the BonBons.

That soap and glory palette reminds me of why I struggle with shadows. I find shadows go muddy on me and I'm coming to find that i gravitate towards cool tones because of my skin tone. I never liked how warms looked. I never go to on board with the warm trend. Until now. And I'm wondering if my muddy issue is a result of not giving warm colors a chance. May cool just doesn't work for me. So now I'm going to go splash out for a huda palette or the too faced peach lol.

you have a very nice community here, so hopefully I'm "safe" making this comment :) I don't really get the love for palettes that people have (not just you, Jess). it seems like there are always a few shades that are loved, but not the whole palette. I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I much prefer making my own z palettes with only colors that I use. that being said, I am not a KZbin-er, so my makeup life is different.

I have been working through my pallets too.. First I made myself declutter, then those that were in my 'maybe pile" I made myself use them for 3 to 4 day.. in conjunction with another palette that I love.. if I didn't relove it or find a way that made me "HAVE" to keep it.. it went.. and I decluttered it at the end of that week. I own wayyyyy to many still.and plan to keep working through those that I kept.. I did take those I was decluttering and offered them up first to a friend of mine who is a singe mom of a teen age girl... let her pick a few, then I let my daughters friends that I know like make up but are not crazy like me about it.. So far I have made a few people happy!!

For the smaller palettes, like the one with 3 shades you love, I'd depot and put in a z palette with other single shadows. I started doing that so I get more use out of shadows I love but I don't reach for smaller palettes.

I busted that ipy shadow set up and put it in a z palette because that light color is so amazing! Great video

I'm the same exact way with the loran pro palettes. I got the mini pro 2 which has that rose color that I LOVE and don't miss the pro palettes at all
