It was a royal sh*tshow disaster. Somebody in government invested or bet the countries money on the wrong horse. The people couldn't do a whole lot. But they were Irish, and learned how to drink and fight. My mom was bummed out no Irish in genetic tests. Scotland, nope none either. She is a diverse blend of Europe. Her ancestors where both wealth bougious ppl mixed in with a hearthrob who jumped trains to make money after getting to TX. The fancy wife ancestor, she cried to go back to Georgia. If she were alive now, she would be shocked at how sub zero everyone's ac is. I live in WI, I borrow extra layers of sisters sweats when I visit bc it is so cold. 4 quilts in the summer cold. Bailey, the "FAMINE" wasn't reported accurately, and my ancestors died because of genocide. I understand that it is vastly misleading to those who don't have access to the true tragedy of what happened to the indigenous people of Ireland. I know you're very respectful to everyone, so I'm not offended. I'd just like to remind everyone it was a genocide and, furthermore, the lies upon lies that are constantly repeated to diminish the real suffering of those people. Even a simple search on Google denies the history of my people. My ancestors were also sold as slaves but you find that it's denied by claims they were voluntarily slaves because it was an opportunity to better their lives. It's extremely difficult to find that even today, the history of my ancestors is denied. Thanks for covering this topic, Bailey 🤍
