The pans are magnetic and removable so the shadows can be swapped out and the palettes rearranged and customized so it wouldn’t make sense to have shade names on the palettes. I seriously can’t resist the Lorac shadow formula ❤️ Thanks for the swatches!

I have to tell you this is my first Lorac Palette and I LOVE THE NOIR palette! I purchased only the Noir palette and I was blown away the first time I used it (and I didn't expect to be). I love the cool tones, the size of the palette and the looks I have created. I guess I lean toward neutral (aka boring) makeup, but I adore this palette! I love cool tones and I think that's what drew me to this palette. I am definitely not disappointed. The price point is reasonable for the number of shades and the shimmers are gorgeous AND they apply well with a brush, which I cannot say for many of the other shimmer formulas in my collection including other high-end formulas. Its a stunner!

I was so lucky to pick the noir for half price and omg the swatches I did. Superb !!! Cannot wait to use it. I love that those mattes are deeper and not 100 shades of beige. The different textures in the shimmers are beautiful. So psyched !!

I have the Soleil and the Noir and love them so far! Personally, I am thrilled with the Lorac release strategy. It seems as though it's a natural step to re-vamp the basics first since the original palettes are a bit outdated now, and branch out from there. I know I'm in the minority but I would so much rather have this thoughtfulness put into palettes that I will reach for time and again than mindless 'throw it at the wall and see what sticks' releases. Soleil is what I hoped the Textured Neutrals Vol 1 would be (and it for sure wasn't), and Noir is very current (ND Glam, Colourpop That's Taupe, etc) since cool tones are having a moment. I do have all my fingers and toes crossed that we get some soft pinks, deep plums, rich greens, and more in the near future.

I agree. You can tell a lot of thought went into these. I just got the noir from the Ulta sale and I can’t wait to get my brushes in there. The mattes are soooo smooth, and the different textures in the shimmers are amazing too !! I always use glitter glue so I know they’ll stay put. Can’t wait 🥰

I’m actually glad that Lorac did not chose to put the warm and neutral-to-cool palettes together! As someone that prefers neutral or cool toned eyeshadows, I’m always disappointed when companies bring out “mixed” toned palettes, because I won’t be able to or be interested in using the warm toned shades... so I often just not get it, because I’d be wasting my money, by only using half of it. (My personal rule: i must be able to use 75% of a palette that’s more than $20 and 50% of a palette that’s over $10 but under $20.) Having said that, I agree with you on the “boring” release. I would have loved seeing a navy and dark green - especially in the Noir palette!

I agree, they totally could’ve combined the two into one staple neutral palette. I also highly agree with the fact that there was a missed opportunity to come out with a jewel toned palette which is on trend but not too crazy for their brand.

I wasn’t excited for these originally, but after watching this I’m more excited for them! I have tons of neutrals, but I’m always interested in trying new formulas. I think they did all of the different sizes because there are certain people that only like small palettes or are a makeup artist and want a variety of shades with the larger size. I don’t think it’s meant for 1 person to buy all of them. I do agree that some jewel tones would have been nice!

I know I’m a little late on these palettes, but I’m just getting back into makeup . I really appreciate the honest review . I purchased the Lorac lux diamond palette recently . It has a lot of neutrals and shimmers with a matte red and black ... I’m liking it so far . I think it maybe a different formula then these, but color wise I’m Not sure I want to fork out extra money for palettes that are similar . If I get one of these id probably go for the noir as I feel lux diamond is warm like the soleil.

I am currently panning my Lorac Pro 2 and I really started to enjoy all the neutral shades in there so much. I also have the first one and had the mega pro but gave this away as I was decluttering my makeup collection quite a bit. I would definitely buy one of these neutral palettes if I was in the market for new makeup. And if these are more of a new staple palette they will offer for the next year or so I can definitely understand why they came out with 5 neutral palettes, as they seem to have different sized ones so that everybody can enjoy using the size they need/want. I always liked the Lorac Pro formula and through panning one of my old palettes I am definitely seeing the still great quality of the brand. Other brands performed quite badly after so many years - but Lorac is pretty much still super good performing.

They could have done one similar to Born to Run where they gave you either a matte or shimmer in a bunch of colors, not a rainbow palette, but more of a colorful, still approachable, palette.

I occasionally do makeup on others and I loved the OG Lorac formulas and 1/2 matte to shimmer combo. Most non makeup wearers don't really want liquid metal eyeshadows, so the shimmers were great. Not sure what I think of the changes.

I loved the Lorac pro 1 and 4, but I realized I had a sensitivity to carmines. I like Lorac so I kept checking their website every so often and these palettes came up under a search for "vegan." I got the Noir palette because I did like the colors better in that than any of the other new ones, and these don't contain carmines. I, too, would like to see some more colors from them, and I'm glad to have an option with a new ingredient list that I can use.

Definitely agree that the Noir palette has more variety. I love that it's 2/3 shimmers/metallics plus more neutral/cool toned. Definitely picking it up. I usually wear a neutral shimmery eye, so I think it's perfect!

Lorac released a jewel-toned holiday palette two years ago. It was on sale at Ulta for a long time. For some reason, it wasn't popular and nobody talked about it. I am interested to try the new formula. I love intense shimmer and foiled shades, especially when they can be picked up with a brush (some formula requires finger application because they won't stick to a brush). Not many brands nail this kinda formula except Colourpop and Jouer. Too Faced is horrible with their foiled shimmer shades.

I guess I agree with you. The last thing I need is another neutral palette (I'm waiting for my CP taupe to arrive now...about 4 more days). However...that Noir palette is calling my name! And, your FABULOUS eye look using that palette doesn't help my cause (wallet) any. I will try to resist...but no promises (I feel the same about the NB glam palette...can you tell my color scheme preference - especially in the winter months?).

I still have 2 of my Mega Pro palettes. I kept 1 & 4. Mega Pro 4 at least had some interesting colors & attempts at metallic & "duochromy" or irridescent finishes. I liked both Mega Pro palettes but just found I preferred using smaller palettes & as much as I liked Lorac mattes, I had moved onto other shimmer formulas that gave me more pop. I must say these new metallics look very interesting & I like the shades chosen in both palettes but I'm already swimming in neutrals & don't need anymore at the moment. Very pretty palettes & it's nice to see Lorac release something new.

From my old Pro palettes I love the mattes, but never care for the shimmers. They always seemed so lackluster (I know this might be an unpopular opinion 🤭), so I am so happy to hear they reformulated their shimmer shades.😍🥰. On the other hand I have 3 Unzipped palettes and I love their shimmers on those palettes. They definitely got my attention now. Just waiting for a sale to buy me so Lorac eyeshadow palettes.

I’ve had the original Lorac pro palette for years and years and always loved the mattes, but where never impressed by the shimmers. These new shimmers make me pretty excited about the brand again, and I might have to consider the noir palette. I do agree that these colors are nothing new or original, but I’ve come to realize that the more boring neutrals are really all I reach for, so I’m okay with it. But I can see why people aren’t super overwhelmed with excitement about them.

Kohls has all of the older Lorac palettes on sale for $19.99 so I bought them. I think if I had paid full price I would have been bothered a little more but hopefully even with duller shimmers, I will love them.

The last thing I need is another neutral palette, HOWEVER... the Lorac pro was my first ever high end palette and I have a soft spot for them, so I bought the Meraki palette on a whim and hooo man, I am so happy to have Lorac back in my life. They just do eyeshadow right. I do agree with you though, especially the 6-pan minis feel like a wasted opportunity to do some beautiful jewel tones or pops of something different.

I'm definitely into the more neutral pallete. I have smashbox with a pop of color which is about all I need. Maybe a neutral with a deeper blue, green, & purple but mostly neutrals and always a shimmery champagne. Going coconuts is a fav... too faced natural eyes, mmmmmm, tarte in bloom- oh yea :)

I think I see these as replacing the old palettes and maybe for people who haven't tried Lorac as a whole. Not that it makes it any more interesting to those of us who collect eyeshadow palettes. I can't make up my mind on these. I've always loved the formula of Lorac, but I bought both the ND bronze and glam and this seems totally repetive now. Thank you for such a thorough review!!

I had a Lorac Pro palette, and loved it. I enjoyed the formula, and also loved the variety of colors - still “wearable” for me, but they added variety to my collection and gave me options. These new palettes are too repetitive - both within the palettes themselves, and as compared to my collection, which is quite small. Hoping they come out with some muted color options next.

I would have loved to see Lorac doing color their way. Like you said, classy subtle well done color. ABH, UD, other brands like it tend to make color look cheap and trendy. Which can be fun don’t get me wrong I have a rainbow palette for such occasions (football games/Halloween) but I’m not wearing them on a fancy date or to work. Neutrals are great for work and I keep my collection minimal my last neutral palette finally died (it got old af) so I’m in the market for a neutrals palette but I’m not excited by anything.

I noticed the difference in their shimmers in the Lux Diamond and the Shine Bright palettes... And I agree with the observation that the palettes all look pretty much to be in the same family and that they missed an opportunity to offer something MORE in this launch.
