Fun fall activities to add to your list: Go to a pumpkin patch or nursery and get decorations for your front porch, spooky movie night in with the husband, build a fire in the fireplace and make cider or chai, rake leaves, sweater/boot/clothes/fall makeup shopping trip, get a manicure in a pretty autumn color, put out a birdfeeder, get some new cozy candles for the house, make chili or applesauce in the crockpot, go to a country fair. Apple picking is the best one though!

I'm going apple picking this Saturday! Another fall activity I love is haunted hayrides. Making spiced apple cider as well. My spiced apple cider recipe is 4 cups apple cider, 1 orange slice, 1 lemon slice, 3 whole cloves, and 2 cinnamon sticks simmered on the stove for 30 minutes, then I put the a cinnamon stick from the pot into each cup. I love fall!

Hi Ashley! I love you planner videos, they always make me want to sit down and plan :) I had a Filofax in the personal size and although I loved it, I found it too bulky and heavy to lug around (I can't imagine the A5!). I now have a pocket size that I use on the go, and a bigger bound planner that I leave at home. That said, if you're only using it as a desk planner or don't mind the weight, I think the A5 nude original would be a beautiful choice! It's definitely one of the prettiest ring bound planners out there (it photographs really well, in my opinion!). What I found really nice about the Filofax, or the ring bound system in general, is that it's much more economical than choosing a ring bound planner. I love being able to move sections around, make my own dividers, buy different inserts, and add things in the pockets without feeling like things will fall out. If you need more flexibility, I definitely recommend the ring bound system!

I love your planning decorating style, the classiest I have seen. I ended up ordering just the A5 inserts from inkwell , and plan on using it with a Kiki k that I recently purchased ( this is my first time using both A5 and Kiki k. I got me a personal Filofax in the patent nude to carry in my purse and it's gorgeous !! But the writing space is minuscule 😕 , I wish I had gotten the A5 instead but the A5 is too big for me to carry in my purse daily

I loved having a planner while I was in school because I always carried it in my backpack. Now that I don't need to plan assignments to far in the future (and I'm more of a list-writer) I use a Rifle Paper Co weekly desk pad! Just thought I'd put it out there for anyone else who's organizing mind works like mine :)

Apart from apple picking (which I did this past weekend) I recommend going to a pumpkin patch, they usually have a petting zoo, hay rides and apple cider doughnuts! And do a corn maze, that's my fave.

Hi Ashley!! That's so funny that you mentioned apple picking!! There's a mountain town within San Diego county named Julian (look it up its so cute!!) it's quaint, picturesque, historic and plain gorgeous!! I'm going to their famous "Julian Apple Days" festival this month where the farmers open their orchards to the public and you can go apple picking, pie baking, hot cider making/drinking, etc. If you're ever here around this time I highly recommend you go!! Good luck for the rest of the month!!

Adine, I love Julian. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon (and may times thereafter). Love Mom's Apple Pie Shop downtown (if it's still there). We haven't been there for more than 10 years. Thank s for bringing up the great memories!!!

Hi! Another Ashley here. I ordered my first Inkwell Press this year after seeing your videos about the planner. I got a Hexagon Flex, the weekly kickstart pad, ampersand sewn journal, 1 each of the sticker sheets, plus the mini fall planner so I can start sooner. My husband and I just went apple picking over the weekend. It's probably my favorite fall activity!! You should definitely try to go, along with a pumpkin patch. Those are always fun as well. :-) Baking a pie seems like so much fun, it's one of my goals as well. I've done healthier variations, but never the full on butter-filled, roll out the dough crust. I just love these videos - really all of your videos - but I love the planner ones. You have such a lovely sense of style and aesthetic. I always find myself wishing I had the same taste and wondering how you keep from making your planner look overcrowded or tacky. You definitely provide some lovely inspiration! I wish the Inkwell had Sept-Aug planners too versus just Jan-Dec. I'm a teacher, so my planner goes that way, and I know I'll order one of these closer to the change of the year, but I wish they had one I could order now and use for the year. I missed it last year - they sold out - and I've been waiting all year for the next one. I hate to think I have to wait until January to use it, but it will be here before I know it for sure. Thanks for the inspiration!! Pretty obsessed with your sticker and washi finds (I still don't really get it but boy is it pretty). xx

+rachelmerkle i feel the same way! i wanted to do inkwell, but when i went to order mine mid-year, i discovered they only sell jan-dec and it cost the same, even though it was later in the year (totally lame). have you looked into Plum Paper Planners on Etsy? i ordered mine there and i love it. it's totally customizable and they even have a teacher layout. i teach at 3-4 different colleges every semester, so i have 7 sections per day per week in my planner that i can fill in with my classes. it's really awesome. anyway, just thought you might want to know!

Activities besides apple picking: go to a local fall festival. Hit up at least one more farmers market before they're over. Pumpkin patch/hayride and haunted house visits in October. Bake a loaf of fresh bread. Get a pumpkin spice latte. ;) Start Christmas shopping and thanksgiving planning!!

Possibly odd question, but what pen are you using? It looks like it writes SO smooth and I'm constantly struggling to find pens that don't skip or look faded in my planner.

Did you make your order in time? I didn’t. :( If so, what did you decide on? I’ve had a loose-bound agenda book (personal size which is one size down from the A5) for years now and was so tempted to delve into the world of these ring binders but so worried it won’t be good in my bag. I have a Cuyana tote that’s the same as your Madewell Tote - do you tote it around? I know that 2016 is supposed to be a bit smaller.
