Hi Gabby! Supper informative video. I’m currently a business analyst in Banking (also headquartered in NYC), but am looking to make the jump into the beauty industry. Regarding product development/marketing, do you tend to preform analysis yourself or do you collaborate with a separate team who analyzes the data and brings conclusions for you to base your product development on? I currently have 2 years experience, and am wondering if starting off with an internship will help me familiarize myself more with the industry. Do you have any advice on this as well? Thank you!

I’m so conflicted because I feel weird posting videos including brands that aren’t the brand I work for. Hi! I have now become a licensed cosmetologist and I’m getting more interested in product marketing. I was just wondering what kind of schooling was needed to become apart of a brand’s HQ? How many years of schooling is needed? And what major should be chosen?

I was a human bio major with a minor in chemistry, but that does not mean you have to be this major to work in HQ. There is a variety of majors, so you don't have to be a specific major. Marketing might help, but honestly I think any major works. In my opinion it's more about work experience.

I attended a 4 year University, but you don't have to. There are so many ways into the industry. I can only personally speak for how I did it, but I know people who work in the stores can make their way into headquarters! Keep an eye out for job postings on linkedin and brand websites, the first step is applying for an open job!

I work in IT right now for a bank doing a rotational program for the next 2 years! My first rotation will be in project management, and afterwards I’m trying to have my next rotations be in either UX or some front end design stuff! Not really sure what my exact end-goal job is, but anything that’ll allow me to put my engineering degree to use within an innovative space! I eventually want to make the move from east to west coast and work for larger cosmetic companies in their tech space as well!! Also- SUPER excited for an updated what’s in my bag/extra organizational methods!! :) been a subscriber for YEARS now and love your content 🤍
