One detail that is overlooked is that Khabib and Islam have never had a rematch in their UFC careers. Their biggest edge during their fights is the WOW-factor of how strong they are and how advanced their grappling and wrestling is. So many fans on here seemed to not understand that Charles most dangerous aspect of the game which is ground submission will NEVER work on Makachev. As an extraordinary wrestler Makachev got so much power when he is on top position mounting his opponent and we can see in the first fight Oliviera couldn’t cope with Makachev ground strength that he avoided to go to the ground in second round. His only chance to win is lucky punch. But then again the first fight showed that Makachev got superior stand up, and the last time Makachev got lucky punched was seven years ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if the odds would be -700 in favour of Makachev this time around as he was -400 favourite initially during their first fight.

He's not a one-trick pony; his background in Combat Sambo, Judo, freestyle wrestling, and the huge improvements he's made in striking makes him a complete fighter. People still have a hard time looking at him as a well-rounded fighter, but Volkanovski himself said that Makhachev is the most well-rounded ifghter he's ever fought. So, that should tell you something... Like Islam said: "I'm not scared of his jiu-jitsu. I know my level on the ground."

@@shadowzeenko3653 you have made many good points there in your post.I’m not a huge fan of the Russian fighters but I have a ton of respect for the skill they’ve brought into the sport.Islam and the others like Umar and Usman will have long careers but there’s always a bad night for every fighter,or that one punch ko which anyone can bring on any night.I’m excited for the future of mma and the ufc…
