The weddings are a great idea, but I would also go to hotels or business centers that host seminars. They often do cookies, muffins, and donuts in their meetings.

Great advice. Bootstrap it as long as you can stand it. Keep each expansion as cheap as possible for as long as you can. Forget the store front. That brings a whole other set of problems. It's the way we did it and we never borrowed money and it worked very well for 35 years. Sold and retired.

Love the business review content! Another suggestion would be to open a pop-up store. That way, it’s possible to test the store front idea with low risk and without a long-term lease. Since the cookies don’t need a lot of space, a booth, for example inside a casino could be a great option too.

Ooo I love this - I thought it was so admirable of him that he wanted to open a storefront bc he loves connecting with people 🥹 that’s just so wholesome, pop up store is very nice alternative!! Plus he can use his lovely personality to speak with food influencers, he seems so easy to talk to

There is a cookie company around called "Crumbl". They do "cookie of the week". Having an email list, he can do a similar thing, letting past customers know when their favorite cookie is available at a deal, as well as announce special season or theme cookies. Red white and Blue fireworks sprinkle cookie for Fourth of July is an example.

I want to open a bakery for cottage bakers to sell their goods. No actual baking done there but cottage bakers take turns selling their home baked goods in person. In a storefront. But instead of one baker paying the rent and having to make thousands a month, it would be shared by all of the bakers who participate.

He needs to do local farmers markets. They are cheap to do and he gets his name out in the community. Have a sign on your table at the market to "Follow on Social Media". He can also link his social media with the markets social media to get more exposure. Also meet up with local businesses because they always have some kind of meeting, holiday events, lunches, etc and you can cater the dessert. Good Luck! Great story 😋

Having a store front isn't necessarily a bad thing. As long as the majority of the space and time is dedicated to baking for the fulfillment of orders. The store front would be the local walk in. Besides that, I am surprised you didn't alternately mention looking for a day-rate kitchen space so that he can expand the baking side of the operation. Part of a new business' concern is being able to handle large orders or multiple medium orders. Having a location he can rent last minute if need be would be an irregular cost that he can have budgeted into his reserves and partly pass on to the customer as the down payment of the order.

Another piece of feedback on Etsy listings. I have no idea how much cookies weigh. Why do you need "2.6oz" in the titles? I am more curious how many cookies I am getting for that price.
@hivyfalou13935 ай бұрын
I feel sometimes the client doesn't want the best, it's not what they care about, so you can still have the best cookies and make something that resonates with other clients' experince, and I don't mean bad ingredients, but maybe by this they'll try different experiences and order what they want
