Making 16 inches Parang Chandong from leaf spring

I make 16 inches Parang Chandong from leaf spring. It was quite difficult to make 11 inches into 16 inches with forging process. It's take 4 hour to forge totally. I try my best to improve my skills

Good work, but next time, better harden the leafspring steel in oil. Hardening in water rises the risks of micro cracks. After hardenig, you have to temper the steel, because it is too hard, now. For this, clean quick the blade with an sharpening stone and bring it in a oven 200 degrees celsius, for one hour. The blank blade has to be the color of brown/purple . Then, put it quick in cold water. Another way to temper, is, hold the blade, after hardenig and cleaning, over the hot coles again , and wait for the tempering colors.
